Hey all,
I camp often. I am looking to upgrade to a small camper but unsure if I want one that sits in the bed, is towable, is a pop up, A frame, or one of the other many options.

Are there any you all enjoy towing with your lighting?

requirements: under 5k weight, under 10k price.

We love our TimberLeaf Off-Road Pika teardrop camper with galley.

I tow a large 24 foot travel trailer. See my post here about that experience.

Your budget and what you want would lead me to look for used travel trailers. I would look for an A- frame first, but they are more expensive than my 2nd choice which would be a used pop-up tent trailer. Both are light weight and low profile. The profile seems to affect efficiency in our Lightning's more than the weight does. An A-frame is quieter and more wind/rain proof than a tent trailer, but they are priced accordingly. Used tent trailers can be found super cheap, but you have to tolerate being in a large tent.

3rd choice for me would be a teardrop as they seem to be the most expensive, even used models are $$, and they have a higher profile than the pop-ups.

4th choice for me would be a bed mounted pop-up camper. Anything light enough and low profile that would work in a Lightning is very expensive and out of your (and my) budget. The Lightning "technically" isn't supposed to have a bed mounted over the cab camper, but some have done it.
