I got in a minor fender bender in my 22 Pro, and it's been at the shop for a few weeks. Was supposed to be ready today, but they called to tell me the paint shop accidentally painted the front bumper the same color as the body; OEM is black.

They said they're going to prime and paint it to the correct color black. I questioned them on it being raw black plastic originally, they insist the black was painted on over the raw plastic at factory on OEM version.

Is that correct? Also, how worried should I be that the brown color they accidentally painted on will show up under the black if it sustains any rock chips?

1. The body shop is probably right. Auto companies paint plastic all the time.

2. May body color would be cool?

I actually had asked about them just painting the back bumper to match so I'd get more of the XLT look, but they'd already started on the repaint....
