Had something odd and honestly pretty cool happen with my Lightning yesterday, and I’m curious if anyone else has experienced this.

When I put the truck in reverse to back out of my garage, the parking sensor alerts sounded completely different than usual. The tone was noticeably softer and less harsh, but the big difference was that it was directional.

As I backed out, the alert sound actually moved from speaker to speaker depending on where the obstacle was. It started in the rear passenger speaker and gradually shifted forward as the truck moved, ending up toward the front passenger speaker. It was very clearly three-dimensional and spatial, not the usual all-speakers, harsh beeping.

Once I was fully out of the garage and there were no obstacles, the alerts stopped as expected. When I got to my office, I tested it again in the parking lot, and it consistently worked the same way. Wherever the hazard was, that’s where the sound came from. Same softer tone. Same directional behavior.

It felt very intentional, like a software update or a new feature.

I checked for updates when I parked. Nothing pending. No recent installs.

Then… when I left work later that day, it was gone. Back to the standard harsh alerts from all speakers with no directional audio at all. Hasn’t done it since.

I’m assuming it was a glitch, and I’m not upset about it. Truck has been great overall and glitches happen. But this one was actually excellent, and now I’m a little bummed it isn’t a real feature.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Is this a known hidden feature, a partial rollout, Europe only, or just a one-off software hiccup?

Would love any insight or similar stories.
