I’m currently throwing my MTB in the bed which is fine but I would like a more elegant solution that is more secure.
I’m not a fan of tailgate pads. I have a really nice kuat hitch rack but I would only use it if carrying more than one bike. I know there are bed attachments that hold the bike via the thru axle but that would require taking off the front wheel. During my research, I came across a rail system that attaches to the box link brackets and has cross bars that you can span between the rails. I have a high quality roof top bike carrier from a previous vehicle that I could use on the cross bars in the bed.
Ford currently has 20% off accessories right now which brings the entire system to under $500. It’s a pretty good deal assuming these are decent quality parts. Anyone have experience with these rails and/or crossbars? Are they worth the price?
