For what it's worth, I've thought for a good while now that Ford Corporate uses electronically coded features like the glare-free headlights to distinguish between trim levels... Ford and Lincoln sedans of the recent past come to mind, for example the Lincoln had activated features whereas the Ford version had thrse same features, but dormant (and I and others of course activated them anyway via FORScan haha).
