I'm wondering how to stop this... I'm using android auto and starting a few weeks ago incoming calls would go to a privacy mode, the person can hear me but I can't hear them. They have to call back and sometimes it works normally and sometimes it gives me the option to uncheck "privacy" then I can hear them, but it continually keeps happening. Hopefully someone is familiar with this, as I tried researching it and haven't found a solution, and it doesn't happen every time so its hard to troubleshoot.

I think that only happens to me when the phone messes up bluetooth connections. Like switching between bluetooth and using the phone. If in doubt reboot everything and then re-pair the phone with your truck.

Firs of, wasn't really sute what Privacy Mode is, but now after reading your message it seems like Privacy Mode is actually Mute, is it not? And if so, how is it 'privacy' (on your part) when you can't hear the other party but they can hear you? Looks like they are going into privacy mode, not you.
Unless of course I don't understand the privacy mode.

Privacy mode diverts the call to the handset. Typically it goes straight to privacy if you answer the call from the phone.

So it could be an issue if it is happening in android auto with android auto.

Does it function correctly in Bluetooth only. meaning android auto not connected?

IT depends on how you answer the call. If you accept the call on your phone it will go to privacy mode and the call is handled by the phone. If you accept the call with your steering wheel buttons, it will go to the truck speakers & microphone.
