If I can't order a Pro, then I won't be ordering an F-150 lightning. I want the step up tailgate and bedliner, but not needed if that may slow down delivery. If they say I can keep my reservation and order a Pro later, I may hold the reservation and see, but at that point I'll be looking elsewhere (I have a cybertruck and chevy ev truck order as well).

If they had a reasonable trim level in the 50k range I would entertain it, but the XLT options are not worth it to me.
I don't need a truck, but I thought it would be nice to have...and can justify one with the efficiency and practicality a frunk provides.

At this point, the Rivian seems to be a better value for my needs and the Silverado has some compelling advantages (fast charging, 400 mile range, EV designed structure with mid-tail gate, etc.). Unfortunately Chevy decided to lead with a $105K truck and there is no way I want 24" wheels.

Realistically, I can afford some very nice luxury SUV's for the price Ford is asking today for a truck that may not even fit in my garage. My current Infiniti QX60 only cost $38K new...I am also entertaining some of the new Genesis models. I am also tempted by the $77K Lucid or i4 BMW. Decisions....at this point I will probably wait a few more weeks and see what happens with my place in line since I've waited since May for the Lightning.

If I trusted the Rivian to be reliable I would get one of those over an ER F-150 but I just don't believe the vehicle or the company will be able to hack it. I think they'll eventually get there but it takes time. That's not a knock on Rivian, it's just facts of life.

EDIT: You can order an R1T Explore package + Max battery that will get 400+ mile range for only slightly more than an XLT ER and about the same as a Lariat ER. If you can trust Rivian and you don't need a traditional sized 1/2 ton truck then the Rivian is a much better value.
