Mirror trim loose near camera/puddle lamp

Last week I randomly notice the puddle lamp dangling and then black trim on the underside of the passenger side mirror was loose and pushing up into the mirror housing. There was no impact so I’m unclear as to how this happened beyond perhaps normal manual folding of the mirror.

Had the dealer pickup the truck today and they replaced the puddle lamp under warranty but failed to fix the housing itself that was loose. They are now claiming after the fact that it somehow was damaged and that part would not be under warranty.

Has anyone else ever had this come loose, perhaps from folding the mirror or just general road vibration?

I did not have any issues/damage with the trim or housing itself, but I did just have both puddle lamps replaced under warranty. The plastic clip that holds the light in place was broke on one side and the other was cracked causing it to lose its springiness.

Yeah, that was the case with mine as well. The dealership was able to adjust it and take the skull cap off and the mirror glass off and allow that camera bracket to be reseated and then put everything back together. All fixed now.
