I understand Ford has a hot product and long reservation list but was disappointed to see MY22 didn’t allow for a XLT ER with 311A. I know they want to reserve batteries for the high spec trims to make more profit but really hoping MY23 will offer an ER 311A option (if I even get a shot to order a ‘23). I want to have some options but a 9.5k required option package is steep.

Thoughts on whether we will see the spec available soon?

You'll have one very jealous person here if it does show up. XLT ER without forced option package would be the ultimate trim in my opinion.

My guess is that XLT ER or some sort of equivalent will be a thing once GM starts shipping its longer range cheaper truck. That likely won't be until 2024, so Ford doesn't have any competitive reason to change the MY23 trims.

Great point on the lack of competition right now. I’m hoping for the best. Even a required “Mid” option package would be a good step. Hard to convince the wife why my ~$60k truck needs to be nearly $80k :)
