Did anyone take delivery of a 2023 pro and have the NY drive clean rebate applied? Just wondering if it is $2,000 or $500.

I have had multiple emails with clean vehicle people. Even thought the MSRP is now over $42k it still qualifies for the $2000. I myself only got $500 from my dealer but the according to the clean vehicle rep they said when the dealer submits the info for the $500 reimbursement they will get the $2000. The dealer should then forward you the difference. The same thing happened when I purchased my Kona EV, dealer gave me $500 and then 2 months later the dealer sent me a $1500 check. Yes I would have rather had it at the time of sale but I’ll take it.

I was looking at the NYSERDA site and it looks like they added “2022” next to the pro as a vehicle that qualifies for the 2k rebate. They however did not add the 2023 Pro to the $500 or $2000 category. It used to just say Pro next to the $2000 rebate. Hopefully it starts at $2000.

i haven’t looked in a few weeks. Since I ordered in august I would look almost every week to see if it changed and it never did. Eventually I emailed them a few times. The main point was that until they were notified by Ford the Pro would remain at $2000. Maybe they finally got the notification.

Well bad news I just got an email from them.

After further review, the 2023 Ford Lightning series have not been added to the Drive Clean program just yet.
NYSERDA however did notify all dealers that due to the starting MSRP for the 2023 models, ALL 2023 Ford Lightnings will only qualify for a $500 rebate.
We apologize for the miscommunication.

That’s really unfortunate. NJ has a much higher threshold for MSRP and they even give you an exemption on sales tax for EVs. Hopefully NY follows suit and raises the MSRP requirement.

There is a bill out there for sales tax exemption for the first 35K i believe but it has gone nowhere since it was introduced.
