Thank you - Ford for the $81k+ 2023 Lariat repurchase that took just 5 weeks in Washington state ... 17 months in use - 7966 total miles.

Lucky to find a new 2023 Pro ER for about $51k + tax to save $25k + 0% 5-year financing to save $20k - put in a 5-year CD at 5% & 3x $7,500 IRS last 2-years. Go low - go Pro - and easily bail on it if need be - given it'll hold value as an ER/F-150.

Love the cushion ride on Michelin Primacy XC 275/65R18 A/S - prefer 18's - & having no side steps we like - given tall drivers/hard to clean steps.

Heated front seats and able to stream Sirius XM through Android Auto - free for 2 years w/FordPass points.

Windows tinted, steering wheel cover, tow hitch step - and a hard folding oxford white tonneau cover added.

Dealer offered wholesale their cost $915 Premier Care extended care for EV's coverage - $0 deductible - 6 years - declined it though - no sample contract offered so an unknown warranty in details.

I contacted the BEV Ford line to open a repurchase request given 50+ days in service the last 6 months. The BEV lady called back in 3 days and said the repurchase department said no.

I filed online with BBB - not a real friendly site - however in 2+ weeks BBB sent an email and an offer to settle from Ford repurchase.

It took several days to get the final $81k+ since I'd used FordPass points for a $1500 tonneau/$220 mud flaps that Ford wanted to discount - but they ended up paying.

I talked to 3 Seattle area lemon law attorneys - and if used they would have billed me $3k or so - and who knows their loyalty except to making profit.

I'm used to using legal advisers - but this project was still a pain in the backside. The savings made it well worth it though.

I had to go to a dealer 100+ miles away - for a new truck - given the local dealer had no inventory.

I could have gone with a $75k '24 Flash or a new $88k '23 Platinum - but decided to go Pro since the ride-power-quiet-speed-look is about the same. Insurance dropped $150/year from Lariat to Pro.

The repurchase lady phone never worked to even leave a voicemail - email contact only - but she was prompt and just mildly evasive.

FMC gets an "A" for making it happen - "C" for process misinformation.

wow, my truck is now out of service on week 3. I stopped driving it after the battery fault and it would not charge. Dealer did not take it until 13th so technically only been at dealer for two weeks now. How could they say NO first after 50 days out of service ? I would think that every state lemon law would make it a given that after 30 days they have to take it back? Did they give you a loaner?

Thank you - Ford for the $81k+ 2023 Lariat repurchase that took just 4 weeks in Washington state! 17 months in use - 7966 total miles. Feel free to DM if you're in the same boat - 1st time ever going through this.

Heated front seats and able to stream Sirius XM through Android Auto - free for 2 years w/FordPass points.

Having windows tinted and a hard folding oxford white tonneau cover added.

Dealer offered wholesale their cost $1285 Premier Care extended care for EV's coverage - $0 deductible - 6 years / 48k miles - or 8 years / 60k miles - $1765 - plan to get FMC to cover it.

$4.5k mileage usage offset - challenging $2k of it.

I talked to 3 Seattle area lemon law attorneys - and if used they would have billed me $3k or so - and who knows their loyalty except to dinero almighty. I'm used to using financial and legal advisers - but this project was still a pain in the backside - l-theanine/magnesium helped. The savings made it well worth it though.

Ford repurchase needs Monday by 2 pm EDT to get a FedEx mailed check to the facilitating dealer by late Thursday of that week - for a Friday vehicle surrender.

No overnight FedEx for some reason - and the repurchase lady phone never worked to even leave a voicemail - email contact only - but she was prompt and just mildly evasive.

FMC gets an "A" for making it happen. View attachment 84168

FMC offered "no" to try and get rid of me/30 days seems standard - evasive as hell/rated the "no" lady 1/5 by name - and yes always had a loaner for multiple service visits - even concierge at home pickup/delivery.

FMC provides a "no" to evade their responsibility.

Because their lawyers have taught them to do it. That is the sad reality as they likely hope some will drop the claim and wait.

For me I wish Ford would save face and just institute a prorated equation based one age and mileage and instead of a true buy back if the person wants they instantly gets that much credit to a new Ford and a special APR through Ford Credit and those that want the check follow the state defined path, but it is a yes if the criteria is met.

It is insane to think a company that large would rather have massive recalls, upset customers, have Henry Fords name bashed, rather than saying “Damn you got a lemon, let us help”.

When I worked in construction, the builder I worked for set aside a decent percentage of the home cost for warranty needs, even if we could clearly tell it was an owners fault we would cover the claim because our name meant way more then a few $1k.😱

Thank you for that - the FMC ecosystem is flawed: software and personnel and customer service.

I vote you to the board of Ford.

It makes sense that Ford would typically say no the first round - many will walk away, but then they do end up buying.

I'm wondering how much of this is on SK Innovation and how much Ford requires them to pay. I would suspect they are providing the new modules at a minimum as a supplier, but Ford may be eating the labor to replace.

FMC and dealership relations and communications are quirky at best - they play off each other to their advantage - and both get discredited.

Yes indeed - and they should provide more incentive cash like $10k to get into another Ford EV.
