Hey guys,
I am a tinter and just tinted our new to us lightning.
I did 20% all around, including the sunroofs.
I haven’t done the windshield yet, I am going to do 50%.

I decided to go take some pictures just to take some time and take a break after dinner.
I left RIGHT before the sky was golden (I’m still mad) but I still got some good shots.

Enjoy.

Great pics! I think a three quarter shot with the wheels slightly turned look great with that background.

Much of the time, the (legal transmission) tints I had installed on my previous truck, Tundra, looked great and were quite functional in my overly sunny and hot part of the country. But only during the day. At night, the rear view mirrors were badly obscured through the tinted windows. Useless, blinded in some conditions, eg without street lights. I'd often have to open both front windows to see just to reverse into my own outer driveway. In those moments, I'd definitely regret the tinting choice I made. (Especially if it happened to be raining heavily.) So would advise some caution, some compromise in the degree of tinting, specifically to account for night vision to balance against daytime functionality and esthetics. It is easy to be mislead by visuals during a daytime install as to what later will be safe and functional in darkness. This probably sounds too basic and obvious, but it did somehow escape me. Experience was a harsh teacher.

Yes I agree with you. When I tint my own cars I do it to a spec where I have enough privacy, and to take the edge off the sun. I get your concerns with the visibility. I personally like window tint at night when there’s cars behind me, because it tones down their blinding lights in the rear view. However when backing up sometimes I have to roll down my windows.

Next time there’s a good golden hour I’ll get this shot!
