Towed my 16ft Airstream Bambi (GVWR 3500#’s) this weekend...1way ~100miles in Tow/Haul (yellow) mode the whole way. First time I’ve focused on MPG. Relatively flat from central FL to Ormond Beach. See attached pic...ignore time as my wife and son sat in the truck while I packed up the campsite and hooked up the trailer for 45mins.
I’m pretty sure I can do slightly better in Nornal (blue) mode... maybe 14-15MPG when I’ve done similar trips.
If I’m not going up steep grades or down curvy hills//mountains is there anything else that tow haul mode gives me from either a safety or efficiency perspective.
Planning on going cross country this summer and thinking I stay in Normal mode all the way through Texas then put in Tow/haul once I get to the southwest part of our trip and throughout Cali.
Thoughts?
