Tracking Dealer Stock Purchase

I recently put down a deposit on a dealer stock Lariat SR that they initially said would be here in October. Now they're saying November and that it's held up at "the body company." Doesn't take much to understand the delays going on but is there a way to track this on my own without bugging the dealer? I have the VIN, but not the order #. Asked for it but the dealer didn't share it. I tried some of the back door tricks on other threads but no luck. TIA!

Use the VIN to find the window sticker. The order number is on there, four numbers under convoy
