Some facts for so everyone has current information.
  • There is no way to track reservations for Canadians, Ford Canada competely removed the system.
  • Ford Canada does not send invites to order, it's left to the dealers to call you. You have no way to verify this as a customer and have to trust the dealer.
  • After you've given a deposit, you have to wait for when your dealer decides to relay your VIN # from your order. If they choose to or remember.
Maybe I'm being too cynical but this seems like a big problem given current market conditions.

What stops the dealer from taking a customers order and flipping it for a profit? The customer has no idea when Ford is going to fulfill a given order, because there is no order tracking here -> it's all information that has to come from the dealer. Basically a dealer could take everyone who has a reservation, tell them to order. Sit back and flip all those trucks for a big profit and blame Ford Canada.

Compound that with the fact that Ford Canada did not even price protect people that had orders in for '22 and you have to ask is this really how things should be handled? This is really bad, and Ford Canada has just opened the door to massive dealer abuse by killing the entire reservation system.

I really hope I'm wrong about this and there is some kind of safe guards Ford Canada has in place, but I really don't see how.

TLDR: Ford Canada killed the reservation system; does it opens the door wide open for very shoody dealer practices?
