We all know that choosing the perfect spot to mount your dash cam can make a huge difference in the coverage and clarity it provides. Some of you swear by the traditional windshield mount, others find creative spots that work even better for their vehicles.

I have installed a three channel system in my Lightning. I installed the VIOFO A329s. I placed the main 4k camera high on the windshield towards the passenger side in front of the rear view mirror. I tried to keep the camera mostly out of my view from the driving position. I installed the interior wide view 2k camera just below the rear view mirror. I wanted the interior camera to capture video out the left and right side cab windows, seems to work very well in reducing exterior blind spots. The rear camera was installed on the back cab glass up high just below the roof on the driver's side. This position doesn't get impacted by the sliding rear window and doesn't restrict driver's view using the rear view mirror. Also, this position does a great job of capturing video behind the truck. I worked hard to hide the wiring but some of the wires tied to the cameras on the windshield are visible. This system is hardwaired to the electrical fuse block in the passenger floor area. I must note that I am using a remote control to trigger event capture and other modes without need to access the main unit. Everything works great including parking modes.
