Alexa voice commands from inside house + FordPass commands integration

I am an Alexa routine nut in my smart house and have FordPass commands integrated into my Routines...

Example:
"Alexa Going up".... our living room lights go off and the stairs and bedroom lights go on, plus Alexa locks the truck..

"Alexa leaving for work"..... She replys with "Opening fordpass.......state you Pin? and starts the car

Not sure if anyone needs help with this or if it has been discussed. Let me know. Thanks.

I start mine with Alexa most days after work. Much faster and easier than using the app.

My PAAK works well so most days it isn't a concern I walk to the truck it unlocks and I drive away, but on occasion I do "Start" the truck so the seats all warm up and the heat is on.

I've already added the Ford integration, I'll have to remember to use Alexa for help vs opening the app.

Curious however, which lights do you use at the house to integrate? I got hooked up with Insteon many years ago, so I have a decent investment there, but I'm looking for other brands/protocols to maybe expand to as Insteon (Smarthome) went out of business a couple of years ago. Someone did buy their IP and have started making new switches, but it makes me wonder if I don't need to start to diversify.

To prevent the double command you can state "Alexa, ask FordPass to start the truck with PIN 1234". That way she won't reply asking for PIN.

PIN is needed to unlock and start. But other commands do not require PIN.

Most bulbs are Phillips with smarthome skills and we also have wall switches for fans and other devices.

For reference to anyone. To get Alexa to command/speak to her self you use Custom command in routines.

I dont state the command. she tells herself the command...

Yeah, I get it - but tell her to say "with PIN 1234" so she doesn't prompt you. Add that to the end of your/her start command.

I also have lots of Insteon gear and have started slowly migrating to Zigbee based gear. I won't use wifi based stuff due to security concerns.

I also have some zwave but nothing compares to Insteon. My main hub is an old isy994i. It just works for me however I will likely need to upgrade at some point...

I just upgraded my 994i to an EISY. They are branching out and should support Matter soon. For now Insteon is still my primary, but hoping this gives me options to support what I have and now diversify.
