They claim salt (assuming sodium chloride?), water, and carbon as the only components in the battery. Without a potential between the anode and cathode, there is no current.

Never say never, but I'm supremely skeptical.

It is kind of like the old adage about planting a tree:
The best time to plant a tree is 25 years ago. The next best time is now!
I am glad I purchased my lightning when I did. it is the best vehicle I have ever owned, bar none, I absolutely love it!
I am glad that they have gotten better every year for the most part so my next one will be better and less expensive!
