Apple Issues iOS 18.4.1 Update To Fix iOS 18.4 CarPlay Connectivity Issues (in part)

I thought it was just my iPhone and my truck acting up, but I've had trouble getting my iPhone to connect wirelessly with CarPlay. It turns out it's a bug in iOS 18.4, and Apple has issued iOS 18.4.1 to address the problem along with other issues. Apple describes the connectivity problem as "rare." Maybe no one in Cupertino is driving a Lightning?!

im on 18.4 and i dont have any connectivity issues outside the known no audio one so maybe it is rare.

On my 15pro, at least daily I've had to toggle bluetooth off and back on, to get wireless carplay connected. updating to 18.4.1 now.

On my 15pro, at least daily I've had to toggle bluetooth off and back on, to get wireless carplay connected. updating to 18.4.1 now.

small sample size, but it seems to have made a difference for me.

My CarPlay connects everytime without fail, but at least once a day I have no audio. Music or podcast time is ticking away but no sound. Hopefully this fixes that too

I have had no problems connecting, no problems with Apple Maps, or music cutting out. My persistent problem is answering a call. Everything connects great but around every 15-20 seconds the callers sound gets muted for about 2-3 seconds. You then have to explain you missed hearing them and by the time they repeat it, the next cut out happens. Frustrating. I haven't tried it after this update but I really hope this solves it.

I have had the occasional (1/5) no audio problem for over a year. Annoying. Hoping this helps.

18.3.2. A bit quirky but totally restarting usually resolves issue. 18.4.1 available but haven't updated. Worst problem is maps insisting on inseting fuel stops. Resolution - disconnected "electric car"

I had no connectivity issues on 18.4, after updating (thanks to my significant other!) to 18.4.1 I have random disconnects and reconnects of CarPlay now!

if you have no issues on 18.4 I would advise not to upgrade if you’re doing so only for CarPlay.
