Driving back towards the topic: yall brought up an interesting point if owning a lightning has led to any friends buying one.

I had one coworker buy one he was interested in after asking me about mine. I have had two friends and a sibling buy Model Ys, either new or used, due to the low cost. I had three other friends buy used non Ford EVs. Biggest reason no one got the Lightning was higher cost, less efficiency, and slower charger compared to competitors.

I think, at the end of the day, the high cost of entry on top of economic headwinds stalled any chance the Lightning had. It’s not like the other trucks are doing better, just the cheaper compacts are.

I’m surprised to see some of the comments online about lack of sales. Here (Vancouver) they’re everywhere. Some of the municipalities have them, I’ve seen police using them and then pretty much everyone and their dog seems to be driving one these days. I figured they’re just as popular in other parts of the US and Canada.

Curious how many of your friends you personally and directly marketed it to ran out and bought one right away.

I can tell you that my neighbor asked me about mine and a month later traded his Raptor in for a 22’ Lightning Platinum. He loves it and now his wife wants to ditch her SUV for an EV.
