My first truck fits item #2. (rear light bar) Last I saw it in Ford Pass it it got sent to a dealer in Minnesota after sitting for months in my dealers lot in Appleton, WI.
That right there is a creepy loophole with modern vehicles and apps. There is no process I am aware of that ensures a vehicle is severed from an original owner’s application connection after they relinquish ownership.

i could, if I wanted, track my old car. Seems like a privacy/security issue to me.

3 days to research? C'mon, I would've called the next morning saying I want it! :) Just giving you a hard time! :)
I wanted one for 3 years but we were driving by a dealer with time on our hands and the wife said let's stop and look basically on a lark. I had no idea what options were available or what the values of the trims were or really what I wanted. It was my first test drive. Took a few days to dig into all the options and what I want and their costs and then look at the market rates. I made them print off a window sticker so I would have something for a point of reference when we were talking. One thing about internet shopping is that I could always print off the window sticker and know what the exact setup they have plus the ship date and how long it has been on the lot approximately. If I had already done the research, then they would have gotten their same day sale as they dropped from 55 to 50 in 10 minutes and I would have gone lower yet.

With a buyback, your you take a hit if you ever want to trade it in for something else, just like you are getting it for less. Some dealers won't touch them even if they have been problem free

With that said, IMHO what the buyback was for matters allot (has to be disclosed) and where it occurred. For instance, a faulty charge port that was in the shop for too long would not concern me, but seeing repeated HVB module failures, or drive failures etc would mean not a chance as far as I'm concerned. Also location matters. Some states are far more likely to require a buyback. I have read that a significant number of buyers use the lemon laws to buy a vehicle, keep it for a year or two, "find" a problem, use the buyback, and go buy something else. Repeat cycle
