LG 16h Prime Battery for Home Integration System

Has anybody put in supplemental batteries to connect to their Delta inverter. I’m looking at putting in the LG 16 H prime to backup the power in my home when my lightning truck is not plugged in.
Any experience or comments out there?

I was not successful with mine, but there are a few who have successfully integrated it into the HIS system. I had some initial issues (not even sure exactly what) and then despite being off, it self drained. I have not jump started it. LG support is not great, but that might be better under Signature Solar selling them now. Mine was obtained elsewhere.
I might be giving mine away very soon if you want to try and jump start it.

Interesting. Yes, signature Solar has many of them and the price per kilowatt can’t be beat. Any support from LG, Delta, or Ford seems to be nonexistent. They seem to have their hands full with the basic HIS. Set up.
yes, I have a contractor/engineer. that would be putting it in and responsible that it works.

Did you attempt to talk to Delta about the problems you have?

I installed it along with my master electrician buddy. I have the HIS system working just fine with the truck. I made a few attempts to contact LG but gave up. Since then I discovered Sigenergy and switched to that so I have no real plans to get the LG battery going. In fact I just want it out of the garage. I know this is working just fine for others though.

I self installed the entire HIS including solar and the LG battery. Happy to help if needed. The LG battery is at a great value right now (wish it was LFP vs NMC chemistry but you can't argue with the price).

Would lovr any details you can share. I am looking at installing a hybrid solar system with EG4, and was thinking instead of batteries, could get the HIS. Looks like you can get it for about 3800.

Hi can you possibly direct me to anyone who got the LG battery working successfully? I have the Sunrun system working well now, including a trial of home energy management. I will soon move the truck to another state and need home backup for my family. So i could add the LG battery (on special under $3k) or put in a whole new battery backup ($12K plus fitting and disable the Sunrun system). If the LG battery works it would be alot simpler. Thank you for considering.

OK, fast forward to May 2026. Ford is pretty much ghosted me for six months. Even though I got a promise yesterday, a technician would call me tomorrow or Tuesday.

After installing the LG prime battery, my engineer discovered the delta inverter was not putting out the proper control voltage to communicate with the LG battery.

Working with Delta and Sun run, We received a new E 10 inverter. Upon installation and working with Delta extensively and software upgrades the LG battery is now in backup ready mode and functioning properly..

It is currently charging at about 70%. Working to tweak to about 80%. With my AC coupled solar (7k) it’s probably all I need.

BUT the lightning is non responsive when I switch the LG battery off and I’m hoping for some help from FORD & the HIS gang to get the truck to deliver power. With the system axed by Ford the clock is ticking to get any remedies.

For anybody wanting to dive into this system. Forget about it. The Ford HOME integration system is a total failure and Ford needs to make us all whole on it. so we can all move on.

I would look into the third party alternatives and put backup batteries in your home with a compatible inverter coupled with solar.

Bidirectional charging using your vehicle to interact with the grid will be a reliable reality. But probably not with Ford. Universal systems that connect to all EV plug-ins will happen and some say have happened, but again, not with Ford.

So far, Ford has done a big bellyflop on the bidirectional charging frontier.

In off grid mode is the charge station pro and the truck port going green?
2nd is to double check the 485 comm wire between the new inverter and charge station pro to make sure it isn’t backward.

Yes, it’s a solid Green and as far as the comm line it is the same as initial install in 2023 when the truck was functional.
I also went in the truck after I turned off the Lg battery and the backup system said it was preparing to backup. I switched to manual and pressed start and the reply was the same and never started to supply power from the truck.
Outlet on truck stayed white.

Green light on the charger was just solid green. Never pulsated like when it was functioning in 2023.

I assume you unplugged and replugged? Also did you re-pair the Bluetooth after the charge station update (like a year and a half ago). If it says paired with station3000 or something like that I think you need to do it over.

Yes plugged and unplugged. Also paired a month ago when I got my 2025 ER lightning
