When I purchased my Lightning in 2025, the biggest factors I selected the Lariat over the Platinum was the seat materials and the wheels/tires. I do not prefer the base leathers most non luxury brands set it thier top trims over the new synthetic materials. They don't hold up well, require a lot of maintenance and are ofter less comfort than cheap leather. I had several cars with low tier leather and have been very disappointed. Luxury brands with high grade leather is a very different story, not found in most our domestic brands. I got my Lariate with all the features I wanted with exception of the upgraded sound system. I agree, the Lariat system sucks. I don't miss having the scales or 80-amp charger. I prefer to charge at 32-amps or less. Also, the 2025 Platinum trim Lightnings are missing the really cool seats, that sucks too. The Lariat trims can be priced up pretty close to the Platinum when equipment is added. I also paid for "Lifetime" BlueCruise subscription at time of purchase, no recurring fees.
