I know Ford did a deal with TXU here in Texas so you could get off peak or free charging.(I don’t remember now). I looked into it briefly about a year ago. I think the rate was like 16.7 cents per kilowatt hour, so it was not a good deal they just charge you a lot for your other electricity...
WOW!
That is a lot of solar! I actually have to de-rate my FCSP to about 40 amp because I have an 18 kW system and after the battery is full I only have about 9 kW during those hours if I am home.
I have often wonder what is possible with these trucks, but I have very limited knowledge of electricity! I always wondered if you could add an alternator or generator onto some type of wheel to generate electricity. I remember reading this many years ago and always remember strange things...
What did your system cost and how often do you use it?
I think that is the question that must be answered for somebody that camps once a year or less, why would you spend that kind of money for that small amount (1-3 miles)of range?
Are you planning on charging a fee for the ability to use them?
DCFCs are expensive, but you’re able to get much more throughput than you would with an 80 amp plug!
I see what I believe to be a road and a building to the top left ”the white thing”
Also would be nice to see more of the area around what is currently included in addition to what @SpaceEVDriver said.
The most efficient solar panels are 22+ percent efficient! So until they get closer to 100% efficient, it is probably not worth the cost for a vehicle.
When AI takes over in the next few years, it will probably create a highly efficient solar panel so that it can power itself so I think the...
Assume the Eco behavior screen is probably for hybrids?
I used to have a 2010 fusion hybrid, and my daughter has one now (2018)and you can scroll through some of the menus to get to something along those lines. To help you drive more fuel efficiently.
I have never charged at a Tesla destination charger however I did purchase the proper adapter just in case I ever needed it. Kind of like insurance you hope you never need it but it’s nice to have when you do!!! Speaking of which I hope you have the proper insurance for your trip I think most...
Agreed!
This is a low cost EV platform that Ford will use to create a few different variants of vehicles. They currently do the same thing (platform, wise)with the Maverick, escape, bronco.
Which adapter are you referring to?
The adapter that Ford gave us or the others you can purchase are for DCFC charging only!
There are other adapters you can purchase for NACS to CCS1 for AC charging.
1. You need to know if the superchargers are open to all or only Tesla.-you can use the Tesla app to check or another app like PlugShare.
2. If you don’t have plug and charge set up then you have to use the Tesla app. Or the app for whatever brand charger you are using if it does not have credit...
At least you can order the correct one in the correct color! It will probably be hard to come by used for much less, but I will continue searching. I know a couple people I can talk to in a couple sites I can look on.
What is your trim level? i.e. pro, XLT, lariat
