Aussie Lightning owner chasing Charge Port panel/trim in Avalanche

This might be a bit of a stretch but hoping someone in the US/Canada may be able to help me out.

Unfortunately the charge port cover/trim on my 2023 Lightning XLT fell off today somewhere on the highway over here in Brisbane, Australia.

I’ve checked for physical damage and the actual charge port mechanism all functions correctly and there’s no obvious sign of contact or any tabs breaking.

Best guess is it somehow the trim wasnt properly attached and has vibrated loose over time. Very strange!

Tough part is there are hardly any Lightnings in Australia and so it’s tough to get parts like this.

Anyone happen to know of a wrecked Lightning in Avalanche with an undamaged LHS charge port cover somewhere in North America that can post to Australia. Trying to avoid having to purchase the entire charge port mechanism and cover from Ford US.

I don’t mind if it’s XLT, Lariat, Platinum, etc, can 3D print that strip to replace it if need be.

I just clicked on the first thing so there may be a better price out there?

go to parts.ford.com and put in your vin and you can search for the exact part number whether it’s lariat XLT pro or whatever

I don’t mind if it’s XLT, Lariat, Platinum, etc, can 3D print that strip to replace it if need be.

Since you have a '23.... For now, you can get the dimensions from the other front fender and 3D print a temporary cover. Or if you don't care a more permanent one and depending on your skills get a little creative with the design.

Thanks mate! Yes unfortunately that is the part I’m trying to avoid purchasing as it’s not just the trim but the entire door latch assembly and pretty expensive once shipped to Aus.. Shame they don’t sell the individual parts of the assembly but might be my only option for a legitimate replacement.

That’s a pretty cool idea. I might have to ask around and see if anyone local can help me with that.. not 100% sure that the RHS fake cover attaches in the same way so I might still need to track down a lightning owner to give dimensions of the LHS flap.

Given whole assembly costs $US300 + shipping might be the cheaper route.. Not sure how hard it’ll be to match the colour though or if that’s possible.. guess have to send the print off to get painted somehow.. clearly it’s above my expertise but someone local might be able to help.

It didn't rattle loose, somebody inexperienced with the operation of the door probably pulled on it to try and open it.

At least you can order the correct one in the correct color! It will probably be hard to come by used for much less, but I will continue searching. I know a couple people I can talk to in a couple sites I can look on.
What is your trim level? i.e. pro, XLT, lariat
