  1. Towing a 19’ Escape Trailer and using Pro Power

Yes, the link I provided takes the 240 the Lightning provides and puts out 120v for the trailer. I’ve used it already and can confirm. I have a different cable i use to feed 240v from the same outlet in to our home in the event of a power outage. iā€˜m no electrician but I understand the way it...
  2. Towing a 19’ Escape Trailer and using Pro Power

Here’s what I bought. It converts our 240v to 120v which is what my travel trailer needs. Worked perfectly and great quality. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B084PZSSDZ?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details&th=1

    Great info and thank you!
  4. Airstream EV Camping in Yosemite

Really enjoyed your video. it’s Obvious from the video you do things right and not just the sā€˜mores. A few questions that’ll help me as my wife and I contemplate a much longer trip (Central Coast California to Seattle). 1. What was your average MPH on the freeways, highway 46, the twisty roads...
  5. Towing a 19’ Escape Trailer and using Pro Power

True. Going 55 Mph would definitely add to my range assuming someone doesn’t throw a tire wrench through my windshield for following the law. :). When I head down to LA if I’m doing anything less than 80 in the 405 HOV lane I get flashed to get over.
  6. Any other long range travel trailer owners out there?

I just did a shakedown with our family Escape 19. See my post on it. we averaged 1.4 miles per/kwh. hope that helps you plan. Really curious what you get but I imagine it’ll be about the same.
  7. Towing a 19’ Escape Trailer and using Pro Power

Last Week I borrowed my parents’ 2014 Escape 19 travel trailer for a shakedown trip up to Hearts San Simeon State Campground to test the feasibility of taking the rig on a West Coast Or even cross country trip next Spring. I knew range would get walloped but I didn’t know by how much. The...
  8. Easy way to safely access backup power for home and free (for some PG&E customers)

Interesting that they even list it. I won’t know until we lose power and if need be I’ll haul out the big Yamaha genset we have.
  9. Easy way to safely access backup power for home and free (for some PG&E customers)

I asked the PGE installer if I could do a quick test. He said ā€œnot really since it’s grid dependentā€œ. I think the biggest challenge will be for me to calculate what I can leave on and what I need to turn off in order to not pop circuits on the Lightning. We are 100% electric so there’s lots of...
  10. Easy way to safely access backup power for home and free (for some PG&E customers)

As some of you may know, PG&E has been in the headlines for flipping the breaker when certain areas are under threat of fire. Usually during high wind events in CA. We live in the country and depend on a water well. PGE has tried to mitigate the issues by offering free powerwalls (I missed...
  11. Pics of Lightning Trucks Doing Truck Things. Post Yours! šŸ“ø

We hauled a Fully loaded bed (1500 lbs) of split eucalyptus for our cabin fires last fall from Pismo Beach (sea level) to Shaver Lake (6000 ft) You can tell how much my wife contributed to the hauling by her pink Crocs.
  12. Showing my Lightning at Earth Day event, how to disable start?

Good day. disabled the phone and kept the fob far away but pretty much no one went to sit in the driver’s side. Fortunately
  13. Showing my Lightning at Earth Day event, how to disable start?

I’m showing my truck an an EV event tomorrow. I’m fine with people sitting in it etc but I’m worried about them starting it and possible driving it accidentally. How can I set it up so the display is on but the truck isn’t in jeopardy of someone starting it? I’ll be nearby with the key in my...
  14. Strange regen coasting behavior anyone else?

I am and it will automatically disable when I’m towing I believe. Still, this behavior isn’t in-spec I’m sure.
  15. Strange regen coasting behavior anyone else?

Here’s the situation. We have a cabin in the mountains. There is a long and steep decent when we return home dropping 5000 feet of elevation over about 10 miles. Basically I apply very little throttle and we coast/regen down the whole way at about 67 MPH no braking required just coasting and...
  16. What is this guy even talking about?

    Lame ā€œHoovieā€ play for views.
  17. What are you plugging in to your On-Board Power outlets in your Lightning?

Great eye! Yes, I like it and it keeps the screen from getting all greasy. Here’s the link. Mach E is identical. https://www.theocdplug.com/shop/p/mustang-mach-e-155
  18. What are you spending your Ford Pass points on?

Sunshade for the front windshield. I think it was $90 total. F-150 logo..fits great.
  19. What are you plugging in to your On-Board Power outlets in your Lightning?

Sur-Ron electric dirt bike to charge while eating lunch from the mini crockpot filled with Thai curry my wife made. Last week I did a full work day from a hospital parking lot, (Dad getting chemo) conference calls, webinars, online trades using the AT&T hotspot with the temp set at 70 degrees.
  20. The possible start of TESLA allowing non Tesla supercharging??

I’d sure be excited if they did this but it may be premature. In Kettleman city (Ca) Tesla built a massive Supercharger station with a coffee shop, solar Covers etc. earlier this year they finished a second massive site with about 40 stations Just 1/8 of a mile away. I assumed what you did that...
