I have a Flash, so PAAK is not an option (nor did I really want it). The fob works great. Almost never take it out of my pocket (and I wear cargo pants so huge pockets). I do use the app once in a while to lock the truck, and somewhat regularly to start climate control.
I know. Only reason I expect to EVER use the keypad is if the fob dies or gets lost.
So I have master passcode in my password manager which I can get to from my phone if I should ever need it.
I have a wireless temperature sensor that sits in the well where the gear shift handle would retract along with an Apple AirTag. Note that the one that I use connects to a base station at home, so it does not report data if I'm not at home. For your purpose you would need one that report via...
Bingo! Bingo! That was it. Have to close the door and then lock it from the outside. Tried it both with the button on the door handle and with the fob (I never use the keypad - I do have the master keypad number saved in my password manager if I REALLY needed to use it).
I thing that may be the secret - I almost always open the door, then hit the inside lock button, and that's when it unlocks the doors and honks the horn. That is OLD muscle memory from prior vehicles that had no way to lock the doors from outside after closing the door (other than the key in...
Dumb question department. How do you leave the AC running and leave the truck with the doors locked? Think Dog mode. If you leave the truck on or in accessory, and lock the doors, it will immediately unlock the doors and honk the horn twice. What am I missing?
In the first post you mention Thinsulate between the roof and headliner, but almost all the rest of the discussion is about the doors. I have a question about the headliner. How did you get the headliner down? I've watched a video that showed how, but it was from a older F-150. Almost...
One more thing, do a little research. PlugShare.com almost always has photos of the chargers and will give you a good idea what the facilities allow. Google Earth can sometimes help and if Street View has new enough photos that also will often help scope out the potential location. Lastly...
That is an incorrect assumption. Early Tesla SuperChargers were designed only for Tesla vehicles. All Tesla vehicles have the charge port on the drivers side rear corner. That means if a Tesla backs into the spot, the charge port is on the right side (as viewed as you approach the spot)...
Wow! The closest setting is WAY to close for safety. I have it set to the farthest and that is just barely at the minimum distance that your driver safety training will tell you to follow. At least what's in the vehicle code here in California is 2 seconds following distance. The longest...
Having watched both videos linked in post #3, not just no, but HELL NO!!!
Way too many issues. Just how hot it got was scary. Really would not want to handle 140 degrees for long without gloves, and obviously serious issues if it's getting that hot.
And the reality is that I don't...
I use the Adaptive Cruise Control far more often then Lane Centering (don't really trust it). Just turn on Cruise Control and it sets the speed to whatever you are currently driving, and you're good to go. Although I have seen a thread here that turning on Cruise Control will automatically...
Bad job on wiring the plug. Way too much exposed wire on those terminals. And perfectly legal and commonly done, but personal preference is to NEVER use bare wire for ground in a box with exposed terminals.
