Gorilla 61148BCX. This kit is cool because you can get an extra one for the glove box in case you lose one or it gets messed up...
Lots of little things after taking delivery - tailgate decals, dust seal, bed tie downs, solid lug nuts, charge port inserts. Also got a stubby antenna on and removed the frunk beeper.
So I got the speaker removed which takes care of the frunk beep, but is there one for the power tailgate beep when activated by the remote? Does anyone know if is this part of the pedestrian speaker?
Just did a 2200 mile road trip with a hard tonneau cover which was nearly all 70-75 mph interstate driving. Average efficiency was 2.0 miles/kWh. I’ve had it installed since day 1 so I can’t comment on whether it made a difference vs no cover.
Correct, this is a vehicle software limitation, not a mobile cord problem. I just tried charging my Tesla from the Ford mobile cord with an adapter, and had no problem dialing down the amps from the default max 30A of the Ford mobile cord. I really hope Ford brings these features to the...
The Tesla mobile connector has by far the most options for outlets, but you’d also have to purchase a tesla to J1772 adapter to use with the Lightning. It’s unfortunate that Ford only has 5-15 and 14-50 plugs for their mobile cord.
When you have a massive launch event touting the affordability of the base level trucks and then severely restrict their production to where people can’t order them, it wouldn’t be surprising if the cancellation rate is massive.
My 10kw generator runs 5 hours on an 8 gallon tank when fully loaded and the 14-50 mobile cord is pretty close to full load charging the truck at 7kw. So burning an 8 gallon tank would deliver 35kwh to the battery over 5 hours, which is good enough for around 70 miles of range depending on...
I don’t blame you for finding a demo without deletes. It blows my mind that Ford has the balls to sell a platinum with deleted seats since that’s probably the biggest feature that separates it from ER Lariats.
What you have screenshotted is a destination charger. L2 speeds up to 11kw potentially. I’m assuming whoever installed the chargers are just trying to recoup the cost of their electricity, hence the cheaper charging.
It’ll most likely depend on how long Ford produces the Lightning in its current form before going to a clean sheet EV design, which will most likely use different battery dimensions and make retrofits impossible. However, if they decide to keep the current frame design around for another...
It should work fine. It’s a long story but this was how I charged my Tesla almost exclusively for the first 18 months of ownership. And I would absolutely use a 12 gauge cord.
The mobile cord will still ask for the same amount of amps regardless to what it’s plugged into, but a quality 12...

I’ve seen J1772 extensions like this one but it might need some DIY modification for a straight j1772 receptacle to fit the charge pro plug with CCS pins. I’ve never seen a...
Ford could also fix this mess by offering 20 and 30 amp adapters for a wider variety of outlets. It’s still annoying to have to use an adapter to go from a 6-50 outlet to the 14-50 plug.
120V/16A charging is easy on a tesla mobile cord because Tesla offers about 8 different pigtails for any...
Keep in mind that $56,000 is a very conservative number. Basically if the bank had to repo the truck and send it to a used car auction that's what they'd think is a safe number to recoup. Obviously if you went to sell your truck you should be able to get a better number on trade in and even...
