Ford is probably about to discover that the market for $80k+ pickups is finite, and that many peoples reservations were for the $40k base model, which was the deal of the century for the lucky few who could get one for less than the cost of an equivalent gas powered XL.
To be honest, I hope they partner with EA and EA expands and improves their charger reliability. Last think I need is dozens of apps to work with dozens of charging networks.
I’ll tip my hat to Ram if they can build anything remotely affordable with a 229kwh battery on board. It seems like this is the way automakers will have to go for people to give up their ICE pickups, which is demonstrating that the truck can still drive several hundred miles with a trailer (even...
One thing to note is that even with direct to consumer companies like Tesla or Rivian, a certain amount of money is baked into the price of each vehicle which allows Tesla to invest in and expand their brick and mortar presence to the size of a traditional car dealership, at least in my area...
Dealers are definitly hit or miss. Some are downright slimy and others actually care about selling vehicles for a fair price and provide good service without ridiculous markups. Some don’t seem to realize that their success goes hand in hand with FoMoCo and taking advantage of people with five...
The FCSP can charge the ER Lightning at up to 80 amps, so that is an advantage if you are willing to have the circuit wired for a 100 amp breaker if it’s not already. If that was the case, the bolt will charge on the FCSP fine and automatically only accept the power level that it can handle. So...
Interesting that they are so laser focused on the scales. It’s not an EV exclusive feature or benefit, and isn’t a consideration for new truck buyers when they find out it’s been deleted and there isn’t a timeline for it’s return
It means their expenses were $2 billion more than their revenue. A lot of this was probably spent on expanding and scaling their EV factories so you’d expect the margins to get better as Ford uses these factories to produce new cars in the future. It will be critical for Ford to ramp up...
My modules have been active since the week of 2/6 and I’m still showing “scheduled for production” on the week of 2/6 and no recent updates. I’m assuming the truck was built and has to get the battery fix retrofitted to it? I’ll keep an eye out for any updates or a built email
It’s probably just getting used to a fast truck. Same thing happened with my Tesla. Even the single motor felt wildly fast when I bought it, but now flooring it seems a bit more mild. This despite Tesla coming out with a few software updates to boost the power by about 5% early on in the cars life.
