  1. Dealing with ice

I asked this a few months ago here. I did not get one due to concerns about scratching the finish. B https://www.f150lightningforum.com/forum/threads/full-truck-cover-recommendations.16558/#post-333822
  2. Dealing with ice

Thankfully haven't experienced it in the real world. It just occurred to me as I was rounding a snow-covered curve the other day. Trust me RickL, if you ever get behind me, you'll be yelling Speed The F Up! I'm old! :)
  3. Dealing with ice

I've already seen that I need to be more cautious during slick conditions than with previous vehicles. With the large mass of the Lightning, it carries a lot of momentum into corners. Seems it will break free sooner than other vehicles if I'm not careful.
  4. Dealing with ice

Yup. This 2 days after the storm and many miles driven.
  5. Dealing with ice

I haven't found that to be the case. Yes, the defroster clears the windows ok, but without the heat from an ICE engine, the hood and the cowling with the base of the wipers stays frozen, sometimes complicated by the melt running down the windshield and refreezing in the cowling area. As...
  6. Dealing with ice

Starting my first winter with my Lightning, I'm wondering about tips and tricks from those who've already been through a season. This morning I encountered two issues that I suspect will be common during the winter. We've been in a weather pattern of about freezing temps during the days and low...
  7. Tailgate triple beep

Mine was working fine until about 2 weeks ago. I'm now also seeing the behavior, more often than not. I've never used the valet mode but will look into the other thread.
  8. New Survey???

July 11 2023 Lariat purchase. No updates so far.
  9. Buzze app

At first blush, this seems like a winner to me. If I can find an available charger within walking distance of where I'm staying or spending several hours, I'd use this. Better than arriving at a hotel and finding the one charger already taken for the night. I'd also make mine available with a...
  10. Simple example of how temperature and heat usage affects range

Google Maps. Get driving directions for the route you want the graph for. Once it gives you the proposed route, select "Bike" as your mode of transportation. It will then display the elevation graph in the sidebar. It's used by cyclists to find routes with the least hills.
  11. I Hate The Rain Sensing Wipers

Yes, but as I understand it, the courtesy wipe is for when you wash your windshield. After you stop spraying, it will wait a few seconds then wipe once more to get any remaining washer fluid. I like this feature. But in my view that should have noting to do with wipers during a rainstorm or...
  12. I Hate The Rain Sensing Wipers

Same for me. Sensing and rates work perfectly for me. But if I park the truck and forget to shut off the wipers, the next time I start it, the wipers will swipe on a dry windshield even if there are no drops to sense. Especially annoying this time of year when the wipers can be covered in pine...
  13. BlueCruise Lane change not working

I've only had a chance to use it a few times as most of my driving is on rural, two-lane roads. But so far I'm underwhelmed by how it works. The only divided highway near me is Rt. 16 in NH. When I have used it, I've been surprised that it almost always requires me to take over whenever there...
  14. CSP-23B57 for High Voltage Battery Notice

Back to the original topic, has anyone successfully received the OTA update yet?
  15. SOC Display in Instrument Cluster?

Thanks Taxman. I was sure I had registered but I wasn't in the list. Should be now.
  16. Simple example of how temperature and heat usage affects range

Which is why I'm still confused. None of those were on during the return trip. (Also surprised to hear that heated/cooled seats and heated wheel wouldn't be considered part of the HVAC system)
  17. Simple example of how temperature and heat usage affects range

There was no wind to speak of. The ride into town is somewhat more downhill, but overall the route is hilly and I'd guess the net rise/fall is roughly equal in each direction. Here are the elevation changes along the route going into town.
  18. Simple example of how temperature and heat usage affects range

Yesterday I went into our local town about 8 miles away to run some errands. When I left, with no preconditioning, the temps were in the high 30's. We had the heat on, set to 70, both seat heaters set to max, fan on 3 bars, and the radio on. Upon arrival, this is what the trip report showed...
  19. SOC Display in Instrument Cluster?

Is there an easy way to search the registry? Like Lytning, I believe I'm registered. But with there being no apparent sort order in the list above, it's difficult to be certain.
  20. OTA update confusion

So if you were outgoing and boisterous, you didn't get the updates?
