Interesting. I never saw that CSP for my 2023 Lariat ER. It was built in Dec 2023 so maybe they had already sorted that out. In any case, glad everyone was ok and got the truck off the road safely.
It’s been a poor experience for me as well. I’ve learned you need to have opened the ford app prior to approaching the vehicle and the phone needs to be in your hand like 6 inches from the door handle.
It’s weird that the data is apparently available for the truck to transmit things like if you left a window or door open or if you left it unlocked, etc. If it’s a cost cutting measure then Ford can just introduce “premium” app features like these for like $3.99/month and I’d gladly pay that.
Pretty straightforward review. It’s cheaper to run compared to its gas cousin, don’t exceed 70mph if you want long battery range, and it’s great at truck stuff. I don’t understand the rear view camera complaints though. Mine always comes on in reverse. Never had an issue with that. For safety I...
Floor mat should have a click snap in connector for this reason. Although sometimes these break off when removing them to clean. But these sudden acceleration stories do have me a tad concerned. I’ve seen at least 4 or 5 separate incidents being reported at this point. Tiny number but still...
I just noticed that on the web page for the future Enphase BiDirectional EVSE, they now have a Technical Video and it shows a guy plugging in a Lightning with it. It's at the 1 min 28 seconds point in the video. Trying not to get my hopes up but this looks really interesting...
I like the blue color, but I had hoped Ford was working on a Lightning with higher ground clearance and better approach angles. Still, it’s good to see Ford throwing a bone to the Lightning in any way possible right now.
I believe this about the brake dust. When I swapped my wheels for winter wheels last time I was expecting my hands to be covered in brake dust as usual. But there was ZERO. It was like the wheels were brand new day 1. Very shocked to see that.
From what I understand in layman’s terms is that it’s mostly time and not miles that degrade the EV battery. ICE folks are always concerned about how many miles are on the engine. But with EVs, especially the Lightning, you could drive it 500,000 miles in 5 years and it’s fine. However, if the...
