Same. Might be easier in stop and go traffic; if I ever run into a lot of that I may try it again. But in my normal driving, there is no need for it, since two pedal offers full regen in the Lightning. I find moving my leg more is less fatiguing, and I want my braking habits fully intact for...
Well, I guess that's their business decision. I agree it seems odd to add unused hardware but that's their choice.
I do think it's crossing a line somewhere to make a "couldn't charge" report on Plugshare when the station is clearly marked as Tesla only.
Another comment said they are V4...
Not all of them. I think that was the point of this thread. Some are indeed the latest and greatest V4 with the magic dock that any EV can use. But some (most?) are still the regular Tesla plug, and only some of those are designated as open to other manufacturers (currently just Ford and Rivian)...
Got 6.8.0 on my XLT ER today. 3 updates in the last 4 days ? 6.5.0 and 23-PU0110-RAD-PS were the others.
I now have SOC % on the instrument cluster, which was the biggest thing I was hoping for. (I guess that's a pretty good sign if that's all I had to complain about)
Dashcam capture. Passed this guy on the highway the other day. Kind of redneck around here, so not seeing too many Lightnings, but there is the odd one :)
For level 2, I don't think there is a digital handshake. HOWEVER there is sometimes a simpler handshake of some sort. Tesla destination chargers can be set to "Tesla Only". If they are in that mode, they won't charge a J1772 vehicle with a cheap adapter. Apparently the TeslaTap have some...
Ford does not want us to know that a 12 volt battery exists, let alone its charge level. They would prefer we just take it to the dealer whenever we have a question.
But to answer your question, no I don't think it's possible now without an OBD dongle. And of course that means no checking remotely.
We are not officially allowed to use the adapters we can get.
Luckily nobody is enforcing this. But legally if anything were to happen (damage to vehicle or charger) it'd be your fault for using an unapproved adapter.
Yes it must be annoying to be so early in line but still not shipped due to living in a second class country ?
I hope (since they seem to have bumped everyone's estimate to September, no extra month for Canada) that they are expecting to ship a really big batch to both countries in September...
"Blame" is a perfectly good word in this case. There is a delay. Shipping estimates have been pushed back by months. It is fair to say we "blame" whatever entity is causing the delay. Even if we are overall still feeling positive about the whole situation.
I would cut Ford more slack if we were...
On the one hand, it's free so we can't complain too much.
On the other, third party adapters are officially prohibited. Luckily they work fine, but technically we are not allowed to use them. So they've been hyping up supercharger access for 5 months now with almost nobody actually allowed to...
The stock 18" wheels are 18x8.5 +44mm. So if my math is mathing, 18x9 +12 would stick out 32 + 6 (half of the difference in width) = 38 mm more than stock. That's an inch and a half. Definitely an "aggressive fitment". I expect that would have a big impact on range and wheel bearing wear even if...
116xx (Canada). Was July, then August, now updated to September. ? Really should have stuck with that A2Z order. At least CCS is usable around here (BC). Just slower.
Glad you are getting some updates but the BMS CSP is not the only source of the problem. I had the 23B70 CSP done over two months ago and I've had only one update since. Nothing in the last 6 weeks. Still waiting for state of charge % on the instrument cluster.
As noted by others, the Ford one charges significantly faster on an ER battery **if** you pay the big bucks to hook up a 100 amp circuit. But chances are you don't need it. I am charging at 32 amps (~7 kW) which is 6% per hour on my ER. Typical daily usage recharges in 2-3 hours tops. Unless you...
