3 MONTH UDDATE:
I believe my original issue finally is resolved with replacement of the driver door handle.
A little history of my quest to get it resolved.
While dealing with Ford Technical Customer Service in the phone, the issue corrected itself for a few days. I thought it was just a...
Interesting. I wonder what was reported that overheats on the charger. Is it the NACS connector at adaptor or internal overheat in the wall unit?
I did a search and found this YouTube video.
First I’ve heard of issues. Mine has no issues charging Lyrics, Bolts or Fords..
The Wall Connector has 4 Modes. Perhaps the mode selection needs to be changed.
All. Vehicles
Only Tesla
Authorized Tesla Only
Compatibility Mode.
To choose between the 2 I'd absolutely choose the Emporia. It has a standard J1772 plug that can charge most any other brand than Tesla. The Ford Charge Station Pro plug to car will not be able to charger a J1772 or Tesla car. Tesla's come with a J1772 to Tesla NACS adaptor that will work...
Florida doesn't have an extra fee to register an EV...... Shush - Keep it to ourselves, and don't let DeSantis know.
I just renewed the registrations on both of our 2026 Tesla Model 's. Personalized plates were $61 each for the year which included the extra fee for personalized plates...
After a LVB disconnect you may need to reset the Fronk if it doesn’t close when button is pushed.
Just slowly manually lower the fronk and when it’s all the way down the power latch will pull it closed. Then you should be set.
In rural downtown where speed limit goes to 25 MPH my truck sees State Road 70 sign and instantly accelerates trying to get to 70 in a 25 MPH zone speed trap.
When I had recent Super Duty trucks they came with this key blank. I always kept one in my wallet in case I need to get into the truck and FOB or keypad doesn't work.
Does anyone now a part number for this blank. I'd like o get one for my Lightning.
Rick,
Let me clarify. I apologize. I misspoke about the $7,500 on my deal being a direct pass through for a tax credit on a high MSRP lease. My Platinum would not qualify for a Tax Credit since the MSRP exceeds $80k limit so Ford did not get a tax credit to pass on.
The way I understood it...
You are correct. Tax Credit to buyer ONLY APPLIES to a purchase, not a lease. If the VIN qualified then Ford got the credit. They are not required to pass it on to you.
YOU CAN’T EVER CLAIM IT ON YOUR TAX RETURN IF YOU LEASED.
No, the $7,500 is not X-Plan discount. It's the way that Ford passes the offers a financial incentive similar to a Tax Credit to for an X-Plan buyer on a lease document.
It got really really confusing. Even the Finance manager didn't understand until he called Corporate finance.
FIRST, The...
You are correct. On my Ford lease the $7,500 was credited with all the other rebates and incentives. It did not increase the residual. It was passed through as a line item listed as X-Plan Customer CASH. It was part of the total Cap Cost Reduction.
My Residual on a low mileage 39 month lease...

Martin,
Great minds think alike. :)
I suggested just that to the tech. He could not find a way to disassemble the handle and he didn't want to break it. He took it back to the shop so "his boss" could look at it to see if it the cover can be removed.
As promised I am reporting back.
Mobile tech showed up this morning with the new door handle. It originally came unpainted and they sent it to a paint shop.
The paint does not match. It's a lot more white then the original and the rear door handle. I asked them to get a better paint match or...
Check the passenger side and see of you can reliably unlock and lock the truck with the Passenger door handle. If it works 100% reliably with the passenger side door handle, then the driver door handle internal BlueTooth antenna may be the culprit. That is what mine did. It drove me nuts...
