What's great about the light is it's an F150 so most the body parts are interchangeable. The only problem that I can see is after the 8 yr 100,000 mile warranty has expired. Until then I'm not worried an because of that I evb extended my bumper to bumper to the 8 yrs. That will get my 2022 to...
Even if you could make the truck a floating neutral that would be dangerous when using it to power anything. Keep in mind the truck is the same as a main service panel and should always have a bonded neutral for saftey. Without a bonded ground on your truck you could get an electrical shock if...
It appears he's only lifting the ground wire from the receptical which is definitely by code if using a bonded neutral source (such as the lightning) to power the receptical.
Could be if they stop manufacturing them. But right now the slowdown is impacted by the fire Ford had back in September 2025.
A fire at the Novelis aluminum plant in Oswego, New York on September 16, 2025, has significantly impacted Ford's production due to the plant being a key supplier of...
A fire at the Novelis aluminum plant in Oswego, New York on September 16, 2025, has significantly impacted Ford's production due to the plant being a key supplier of aluminum sheet. The fire is expected to cost Ford between $1.5 billion and $2.5 billion in profit this year, and has caused...
I'll have to check that out. I do wish they would just let me start Pro power without starting the truck. I guess the new ones don't require you to start the truck to run pro power.
Mine is a 2022. I haven’t tried to power my home for awhile but I'd have to start my truck , to get the screen to appear then start Pro power then go to vehicle and turn off the shutdown timer.
Sounds very similar to what I have except I havecloer to 55 kwh lithium batteries and only 13 kw of solar power. But a much lower daily consumption of < 20kwh. I do wish ford would come out with a software update for my 2022 so I didn't have to run my truck to use the Pro power and not have to...
That's exactly what I do. I used to use my excess solar energy to power an electric hot water heater that I installed prior to my natural gas water heater. Now I use the extra energy to charge my lightning.
I just plug my home into a generator receptical and into the 7200 watt 240 volt bed receptical. Flip a manual transfer switch and I'm running off my truck . Granted i only have 7200 watts available to me but it powers my deep well pump just fine , all my lights fans , tvs, computers and limited...
My 2022 platinum heat has worked great for me. Of course I am pretty happy with just the seats and steering wheel after I've set my departure which preheats my cab using the grid. Once I'm on the road I normally turn off cabin heat unless it is super cold.
That would require a very large generator to produce 19kw per hour. You're probably looking at a 28 kw generator. Westinghouse makes one that has a run capability of 20 kw per hour with a 17 gallon fuel tank that would run at full load for just over 4 hours.
Generating that kind of power eats a...
It seems like an awfully big expense, large generator, cabling and everything else require to be able to charge while driving, to get 30-50 extra mileage per charge. I'm so thankful I only need to use my lightning locally without ever worrying about running out of energy. I do sympathize with...
