I had the same problem. Failed updates. I contacted ford and their temporary fix was instead of charging to the recommended 80% they told me to set my full charge to 84% and my updates started coming in. They've recently install a new 12 volt battery monitoring module & software that's supposed...
Getting my charge port door to close or open is a real pain. Sometimes, no matter how hard I push on the door it won't open. I have to hit it with the side of my fist. Same thing with closing it, but not quite as bad.
I've tried pressing in several areas on the door but doesn't seem to...
My dealer took mine, as it was a mannequin and I had to wait 6 months to take possession of it. They told me it didn't come with one. But the first time I test drove it had one in the frunk.
My local dealer has a new policy. Instead of scheduling an appointment to get a recall on the 12 volt battery sensor replaced. The scheduled with me to come to my home and change out the sensor and also download a few OTA updates. He arrived as scheduled gave him the key to my truck and in a...
Yes i found the same, the two duplex recepticals in the bed are on separate 3600 watt inverters to create the 180 degree phase shift for 240 volts but still limited to 7200 watts total for all bed recepticals.
I've used my 5 ton log splitter. The front receptical wasn't powerful enough, I had to use the rear receptical. I've used microwave oven, coffee maker, toaster, electric Skillet allwor fine. I made up a cable to attach my 240 volt 30 amp receptical in the bed of the truck to a generator...
I always use one pedal driving, I believe it has to get better economy than two pedal driving does. Example: A computer controls anti- lock brakes and can react much faster than any human. The same is true about one pedal driving. A computer controls the required braking much better than a...
I've wired a generator receptical to my main service panel through 30 amp breaker so I can turn off my main and connect my lightnings 240 volt receptical to the generator receptical to power my home in an emergency.
I tried plugging in my 5 ton log splitter in one of the frunk recepticals but wouldn't handle the startup surge. Truck bed recepticals worked fine so I can split firewood where ever I can drive my lightning to. No more running drop cords anywhere.
I also have trouble opening mine. I've opened mannequins at the dealer and most seem to latch & unlatch easier than mine does. I mentioned it to my dealer once, but they didn't attempt to do anything about it. Anyone know of an adjustment on the latches.
To use the AT&T mobile data plan when I'm outside my vehicle, I have to start my lightning from the truck. It would be great if ford could turn on the mobile data network when we start our lightnings from the ford pass application.
Thanks.. I hope this helps future lightning owners because originally ford said to just charge to 80% but as you & I noted that can cause problems getting OTA updates. So 85% is what I charge to and will occasionally take it to 100% but I don't normally charge more than 85%.
Apparently charging my high voltage battery has something to do with charging my 12 volt battery because it was recommended by Ford to charge to 85% to top off the 12 volt battery and that fixed my problem getting my OTA updates. Coincidence, I don't know. But it worked.
I used to just charge my lightning to 80% but was having problems getting my OTA updates because they said my 12 volt battery didn't have sufficient charge. Ford assist recommended I charged to 85% which solved the failed update problem.
Personally, I like the fact there aren't a flood of EV owners. As this market becomes flooded, you can be sure electrical charges will go up. EV owners need to do what I've been working on for years prior to purchasing my lightning, that is enough solar power to charge my truck with it. One...
