It's a back end bug. It happens on stock openpilot too. The only path forward I've found is to tap the screen a bunch during reboot and trigger a factory reset, then start over. Very frustrating outcome.
feel free to go tell comma they don’t know how to run their business and see how that works out for you. Because it got me banned from all their official platforms.
Because the resistors have to go on the end of the canbus stub, not the beginning. I guess you could make a custom USB cable with resistors, but that seems harder than an extension.
it’s not EMF, it’s canbus reflections. We think the reason the Lightning has issues and the others don’t is that Some of the modules on the Lightning never go to sleep (and are awake during boot up on the Lightning) which is related to the reverse power (power the house) capabilities the...
Andre tried the ferrite cores on his USB cable at the very start of this thread and it didn't help. The youtube guy said putting the ferrites on the power cable helped, but if you aren't running the power cable then you can't put the ferrites there.
Do you have the old style harness or the new one? I found out with the Mach E this weekend that they behave differently for some reason I can't decipher yet.
The first test would actually be to just unplug your ODB2 connector and see if the errors go away. If they do, then buy these...
Someone on my youtube channel today said they were able to eleminate the startup errors without a harness extension by putting ferrite chokes on the comma power cable (between the ODB2 port and the harness box). I cant understand why that would work, but it is worth having someone else (who...

Just to clear up some confusion. All Lightnings have “Lane Centering Assist“, what you call advanced lane keep, built into the rack and pinion. Fords firmware just blocks it if the ACC radar isnt detected or has error codes. If you add ACC to an XL, Lane Centering Assist will work.
At this point, I think that the 2024 lightning does not have TRON. The first two trucks that tried Comma wouldn't work and we assumed it was TRON, but the next 4 have worked, so I think the first two had a different issue.
