Thats a great Idea !
I am ordering the Stellar to go with my Typhoon, and with the Ford Destination charger, really be ready for any situation.
I see they have some products in development - like a DC extension cord 6-9 feet NACS DC - lol for those impossibly short Tesla station cords I expect!
My advice - get the price on the base truck down down down as low as they will go.
Then, and only then ask about adding anything back (bedliner, box tonneau cover etc) if the "add" is more than you can get it for on your own - say no to the adders and secure the truck at the best price you can get.
Yeah - it is more fun when you let them think they MIGHT be able to catch up...LOL.
The kid in a new WRX a few weeks ago was my favorite tease.
I don't think he even realized the Truck is Electric.
A lot of people don't notice the Lightning - it just looks like another pickup. And then you...
And EVERY DAY in a Lightning...
A brand new Raptor pulled up on my right side at a Red-light today,
when the light changed and I heard his engine rev up, I couldn't resist, and just pulled a bit ahead of him, not trying to leave him in my dust...but not letting him pull ahead either...just a...
Auto-parts go both ways across the Canada-USA border, ditto Mexico - the whole works is a huge interconnected machine. I know people who work in Ontario making parts for assembly plants in Canada, US and Mexico all in the same plant.
Locally here I see a lot of Honda CRV and Toyota RAV4 (both...
-30C or +10C (-22F, 50F) I have never noticed any issues, I always use the precondition and the truck is always perfect inside temp and no fogging every time ... I use cabin temp of 22C/ 72F and the truck preconditions every morning and every eaving for my travels.
I always leave it in auto...
I think you're right,
last week when I hooked up a trailer, the dash gave me the warning that blind-spot monitor would be off while connected to a trailer. All the trailer lights worked though, turn signals brakes everything.
Very true,
I stopped yesterday at a GM dealership - they have a charging station I wanted to try out.
So while I had 20 minutes during charging, I talked to the sales manager - looking around on a Saturday mid-morning and no other customers in the place. The manager was with four other staff...
With the slow down in sales, Ford Motor Co taking 10k off the MSRP and the Dealer motivated to move the last few 2024's off their lot in Jan/Feb - and knowing 'turmoil' was likely coming soon, I got my lightning at a good price Feb 2025 on a 2024 model.
If you can get the truck at the lowest...
If I don't rotate the tires every 10,000 miles, then all that I got left for maintenace is washer fluid refilling ! LOL.
Actually though, for people with Winter and Summer tires, we are rotating tires twice per year all the time, hardly think about it. Good idea to mark DF, DR, PF. PR with a...
For those planning to keep the truck a decade, the "market" is irrelevant.
The purchase price was set when they bought.
I compared two F-150's the ICE and the Lightning - over a ten year period the ICE would be double the cost total with fuel, than the EV with charging. -I mostly home charge...
Thats what we are all here for, to help one another !
Besides, this is still fresh in my mind, so it rolled off the finger tips pretty quickly.
Enjoy the new truck...and rolling past the gas stations..when you wave at them, try to use all your fingers
I gotta settle down before 'Officer Friendly' spots me one day,
but my first couple weeks after getting the new truck I just couldn't resist the temptation to blow the doors right off those spoiler-souped-up-modified-exhaust-wannabee-race-cars...it was just Too Funny to silently pull away and...
Also am a recent (6 weeks now) XLT owner in NW Ontario region, LOVE the truck,
Few things I found so far that may help you:
-Spend a bit of time navigating the new truck menus - learn where to find 'stuff'.
-Change the default hot spot to 'off' and blue-tooth name ("Lightning" kinda stands...
HEY !
Those are technically called "Ugga-Dugga's"
A "Ugga Dugga" which is defined as a unit of measurement, often used in automotive workshops, representing a combination of time and torque, roughly equivalent to 14-16 foot-pounds of torque per Ugha-Dugha. These units can vary by region...
I have a full home solar battery system - with 115kWh home battery.
The 'easy' way for the truck to back up the system - although certainly not the most efficient, is to run a EG4 Chargeverter from the truck to the house system from the truck box outlet on propower.
The EG4 can run from 240 or...
I plan on using the stock tires for summer, and get a dedicated winter set on rims for winter:
Anyone have any experience with Bridgestone Blizzaks' DM V2 on a Lightning? - wondering about the softer rubber vs heavy truck ... only in cold weather mind you, but still...any experience out there?
