  1. Tonneau Cover Range Improvement numbers

The tufts were across the entire back half of the cover. Vortices are turbulent flow. There is of course air movement in the bed area. Tuft testing showed there was no smooth flow in the bed area, it showed that the airflow off the cab is not touching down in the bed area and that all air...
  2. Tonneau Cover Range Improvement numbers

I expect the bed of the Lightning is too short to make any difference. Everything i have seen or read, including Ford themselves, says the air needs a place to "land" for efficiency gains. This is part of the reason the tailgate top is so big. But on our trucks the airflow off the top of the...
  3. Speedo off by 1 MPH

Mine is the opposite. The sensors, as polled by the obd port, read off but the speedometer has always been dead on.
  4. Daily Charging Limit Percentage - what's yours set to?

What in the world are you talking about... Ford doesnt say you "shall" charge, they simply recomend it. Literally everyone here has interpreted that, and a few decades of lithium battery usage, to mean you should not chare higher for battery life. That HAS been what the whole thread says...
  5. Lightning ER vs Hummer 2X, HorsePower and Torque stats

Except that torque at the wheels IS what matters. THAT is the number that determines how well the vehicle will move. ICE manufactures use Torque at the flywheel because it gives a higher number than one after drivetrain losses (and they have multispeed gesrboxes so at the wheel is convoluted)...
  6. Glare Free Headlights - Use Case

I have wondered how many people notice it.
  7. Two chargers at home, can I make different settings?

Dont forget that there is a difference between efficiency and overhead. Also, I didnt think the truck preconditioned the battery on L1.
  8. The Lightning is amazing in the snow

I have one complaint with the Lightning after our recent snow storm. Its too stable. Or... in the snow, its so stable its not communicative. With snow, slush, rain, and freezing water normally I can feel a difference in the vehicle when it transitions to a slippery surface. Its like they get...
  9. Glare Free Headlights - Use Case

This! Driving 53 across Wisconson at 11pm was what convinced me. Have one car in front of you and you cant use the high beams, with this i wasnt blinding the car for the 20 miles it took to pass them, yet had the ditches fully illuminated. Pretty sure I had a car follow me for 45 minutes...
  10. F150 Lightning FORScan thread - Version 2

I recomend the vLinker MS. I have been using it for quite a few months now continuously without any issue. I run Carscanner, Torque (every drive), Forscan, and it should be suitable for ABRP. I dont know of any other device that can do all of them. Oh, and in PID speed tests it is one of the...
  11. Daily Charging Limit Percentage - what's yours set to?

Ah! Now I gotcha. I was over here wondering why someone was expecting 10yr and 20yr estimates on a truck thats less than 5yrs old, ha!. The actual lightning data is pretty easy. Nominal "100%" for a Lithium NMC cells is 4.2v, thats generally the industry standard. The lightning maxes out at...
  12. Speedo off by 1 MPH

The new tires will likely fix it.
  13. Recall Is Halting sales of used Lightnings in Canada.

Dont confuse being a jerk with "sugar coat". Your comment wasnt constructive, it was just rude. He is entirely justified in his respons and dont try and gaslight this to feel justified.
  14. Daily Charging Limit Percentage - what's yours set to?

As I said, that IS accounting for the reserve capacity of the Lightning battery. That isnt really "aggregate" data, thats likely from measured degredation curves from lab tests. Those are always generalizations as real world usage will be much different. No matter what the lab, measured, or...
  15. Daily Charging Limit Percentage - what's yours set to?

I did have it use the Lightning "100%", aka max cell voltage of 4.09, rather than a lithium typical 100% of 4.2v per cell. That means the factory buffer is already built into those calculations.
  16. Daily Charging Limit Percentage - what's yours set to?

In this case i specifically asked it to consider 15k per year and charged daily. I didnt put in any of the other factors because they get too varied across users to mean anything. DoD, environmental temp, fast charge frequency, etc all become highly specific
  17. Daily Charging Limit Percentage - what's yours set to?

Day to day its 80% in the summer and 90% in the winter. 100% whenever I think i will be putting more miles on that day Regardless of the safety buffer built into the battery a lower percentage increases pack lifespan. Quick chatgpt answer here for an ER that drives 15k per year. Charge to 100%...
  18. EV Supplemental tax

As mentioned Ohio has something similar. Weirdly enough my truck was not tracked as an EV so I paid the "normal" rate. I mentioned this and they handed me a paper form to fill out and send to the state to notify them of the error so that i could pay them the extra $200. I sure do hope that...
  19. Ford and Class Action Lawsuit regarding downgrading Lightning

Im almost certain that the MSN article came FROM our forum discussion here, not that it validates it. Care to share which state you live in? We can do some OBD measurements to see how much power your truck is putting out (literally power...current, voltage, accelerstiin, etc).
