  1. I'm out after 6 months

I'm referring to cold starts more so... not when the battery is being conditioned by the truck to maintain temp. This would be where people see a huge drop off at the start of a cold start trip compared to estimated range at the end. And your pack, while charging, is not going to be at the...
  2. I'm out after 6 months

I feel like I did fine last winter keeping the truck basically parked outside (couldn't close the garage door) in the northeast... my daily commute isn't more than 40 miles though, so it isn't like I have that much to worry about. I was wondering about this... in cold weather your battery...
  3. Dedicated Winters Hakka vs XIce vs Blizzak

Did you ever try using their warranty? IIRC the x-ice are the only snow tires I saw that have a mileage warranty.
  4. Help me justify the purchase!

Do you know if that is still accurate? Mine rolled over/reset and I'm at 13k miles... my day 1 trip meter is showing like 3k miles driven.
  5. Help me justify the purchase!

Am I missing something? I thought OPs "rebates" were $7500 from his state (MA), $7500 customer cash from Ford, $7500 from federal EV rebate. Edit: disregard message, I got it.
  6. Help me justify the purchase!

No ... You don't subtract the trade in price and call it savings on the new vehicle. It is ~79k - 23.5k = 55.5k. I wish I had that MA rebate, my state is supposed to be really pushing green but they really skimped on the EV credits.
  7. Camera Zoom...Did I Really Overlook This for Over a Year?

100%. My Genesis GV60 shows the front camera up to like 5mph maybe? Big help, and it would be even better on the lightning. I also like the GV60 showing the side view mirror camera feed in the dash when you use your turn signal.
  8. Recommendation for 2024 Lightning buyers...

Looks nice. I have 2 car seats in the back though so I have a while before I think I could really make use of this ;D
  9. Resale value

Not everyone qualifies for the $7500 (well, not sure what Ford is doing with the lease loophole).
  10. Lightning Commuter goes long haul: 96 hours covering 1700 miles

Eh, this should only really apply if you are needing to extend your range to make it to a charger. Most of the time your power consumption while driving is going to be less than the power provided while DCFC. Example: 2.4 miles per kWh at 65 mph is approx 27kW power draw 2.2 miles per kWh at...
  11. F-150 Lightning Cash Rebate Incentives Offered on New Sales/Leases Until January 2024

Why did you have to post? Lol now I need to seriously look at one of the lariat ERs to replace my XLT SR... there is one locally looks like.
  12. Resale value

Is that your guess or a number you've actually seen? Because if anyone here wants to sell me an XLT for $35k I have cash in hand. And I already own one.
  13. Torque Pro on your dash / Android Auto !!!

Before I go down this road, with this plugin can you change the appearance? I've used torque before but I don't care much for the dials and prefer just a grid with numbers a la car scanner.
  14. Console to column shift swap mod?

Following... I also feel the console shifter is wasted space/annoying to the point that I never ever use the armrest work surface. That god awful noise of the motor... ugh.
  15. Car Scanner App Template (For Real-Time Charging, Battery and Range Telemetry)

Does anyone have any experience/recommendations for other brands of BLE+ devices? I bought the veepeak last year, did not really use it much at all in the past like 8 months, tried to use it for a trip last week and struggled to get it to connect/even see the device so I think it is now broken.
  16. windshield wiper blades

Hmmm... have the Bosch Icon and RainX blades always been that expensive? ~$30 per blade? That's crazy. I think I will probably just go with the Costco special... Michelin blades for $6-8 per blade.
  17. F-150 Lightning FLASH Model Debuts with Heat Pump and Bigger Screen

How did you come to this conclusion? I was under the impression most systems would fall back to a resistive heating element (though I think in Tesla's case they use the motors as the resistance, same idea though).
  18. Recommended Charger - ChargePoint Home Flex , FLO Home X5 EV Charger . Emporia EV Charger

If you understood how the studies are done you'd realize attribution error is a huge thing. This statement in particular is ridiculous. If you google this question, you can find some links that say homes with EV chargers sell for 13% more, but that doesn't mean it is the EV charger itself that...
  19. Recommended Charger - ChargePoint Home Flex , FLO Home X5 EV Charger . Emporia EV Charger

I think by far I've seen the most negative complaints of the Grizzl-e chargers... might have just been the refurbs but a lot of scorching/burning up reports. Uh, I find it hard to believe you have any reliable method to prove that point. The most expensive part of installing an EV tends to be...
  20. Using 120v to 240v transformer and two generators?

The truck has a limit of 12 amps on 120v (this is regardless of the EVSE supplying 24amps off a TT-30 or whatever 120v connection)... so the whole point of the 240v conversion is to allow the truck to charge faster than ~1.1k-1.2kw. 240v and 12a would give you somewhere around 2.2-2.4kw...
