There are a couple of Supercharger stations near me that show as available (for the Lightning) on the Tesla website and FordPass, but not on the Tesla app. User error is certainly a possibility.
I just updated the Tesla App from the Apple App Store, and the new version replaces "Charge Your Non-Tesla" with "Charge Your Other EV". Put in your vehicle details, and it shows all the relevant (V3 or V4) Superchargers.
Not sure how may ways to charge I will have time for tonight.
Still have a day job - will hit one on the way home tonight.
Updated the FordPass app, and now all the Superchargers show on the map.
OTA update in the truck just finished.
. . . . if the truck is unplugged. If the truck is plugged in when a scheduled departure time approches, the truck will use shore power to precondition the battery - and warm/cool the cabin or not, depending on that switch setting. It also may or may not warm the steering wheel, which may or...
I certainly hope it's impossible to harm person or property with the wrong adapter (and I lack the knowledge to explain how it is impossible). The transition to NACS is going to be confusing for drivers, who will undoubtedly face loads of misinformation.
I have a June 22 delivery truck, so the experience may differ. I saw lots of others getting updates by the end of the first summer, and I wasn't getting any. Cell coverage is good at the office during the day, but lousy at home and nonexistent on the weekends if I am parked. I connected the...
Yup. This was a curiosity excercise, since there was a Plugshare report that these chargers had been switched to Chademo and NACS. Apparently that was a mistake, and they got switched to CCS and NACS. Unclear from the Plugshare posts whether they worked in the Chademo/NACS configuration, or...
Stopped by my local ChargePoint NACS station this morning. According to Plugshare, it was NACS and Chademo until a week or so ago, and is now CCS and NACS. In any event, as suggested above, the NACS connector did not work with my A2Z adapter - communication started, but then failed. CCS...
This is also true, and may catch you by surprise during a Florida cold snap. My seasonal numbers are much the same as Dan's and my playground is Rhode Island to southern Vermont.
That is my assumption, but my only towing experience is with a trailer that is both light and pointy.
OTOH, when I put a pallet of wood pellets in the bed, which weighs more than the trailer and sticks up over the cab, range seems to be significantly reduced - but I only drive about 10 miles...
I tow a trailer with four large kayaks - a litte more than 600 pounds - on an open trailer. It's pretty aerodynamic and does not extend above the top of the bed, but is almost 20' long.
I get virtually no range reduction over a 120 mile drive with 850 feet of elevation, compared to the same...
Have you tried http://www.umc-j1772.com ? They did a custom J-1772 cable for me a couple of years ago, and currently sell a 80 amp NACS extension cable.
They are the folks that make the Teslatap.
I think I am in the same boat, but my second part hasn't arrived yet. Happy to pass it along to anyone who is interested. One wiring connector and two 10mm bolts, and then you have to close the frunk by hand. That's all there is to it.
PM if interested.
My A2Z adapter arrived yesterday. Hope to get to the nearest (Chargepoint) NACS DC charger early next week to try it out.
It seems to be every bit as robust and well-made as the other adapters in the frunk - 80 amp TeslaTap Mini and the Farley Special J-1772 to Tesla that came with the truck...
Don't know yet. It's Chargepoint, so you never really get the advertised rating, at least with CCS - I never got over 77kw, and I was always the only one there.
Seems odd that they swapped the CCS cables and not the Chademo, but what do I know.
My adapter is supposed to arrive today, but it...
I'm not sure the PlugShare app can do that now. Filtering Superchargers is pretty simple - V2 are only 150kw, so search for Supercharger network and greater than 150kw, and you only get V3 and V4. But including Chargepoint, EVgo, etc. with NACS is not that simple - currently the only way I can...
