You would have a point if Ford had announced from the get go that reservation order was just one of several inputs to convert to order. Or if they had said, on 5/19, that they would later allow people with lots of prior purchases to skip line. That would’ve given everyone 7months to spend every...
Ford=|=Ferrari, vastly. Your transparent, consistent, and ultimately pointless gaslighting really isn’t going to convince anybody that Ford was right to let people skip ahead in line through the prioritization process. Basic fairness.
Disagree with your last point. Yes, there’s way too many people that are too lazy or lack the reading comprehension to get real news on a real news site and instead believe everything on FB, but luckily they’re still just a small minority.
Either that, or a lot of people will see them in person this summer and go “hey, I reserved in October, almost a year ago, where’s my truck?” And everything we’re reading on here now will repeat itself then. Stay tuned and stock up on the popcorn!
……right when it became clear that there was going to be some government money on the table. Not that I blame them, that’s truly a win-win for everyone, Tesla, drivers, and even the government that will get more bang for the buck this way. My one concern is that the money will be passed through...
That’s why I only said that they “implied” there was a orderly line that everyone at the time thought they were going to follow. My local Kroger also doesn’t announce on the intercom every five minutes that there’s no skipping lines at the checkout, but everyone seems to understand how the...
You seem to think that it’s legitimate for the long time Ford buyer to be PO’d if he….doesn’t get to skip ahead in the line? I don’t think that’s how most people would see it at all. Most of us have been (hopefully) conditioned since childhood to wait for our proper turn in line. Ford’s original...
Bad news travels fast though. Farley’s musings re ADM were widely reported, and even though he, correctly, called out the dealers, those same 99% of customers now think “Ford=upcharge”. Probably not a good time for more bad publicity. However, Ford’s definitely learning new lessons here, and...
According to Ford’s internal playbook, MY 23 ordering opens this summer, and production switches over this fall. Run rate will be much higher then, Q4 22will produce as much as Q2+3 22 combined. MY 22 production will get almost halfway to your spot on your dealer’s list, therefore you’ll have...
All valid points, but if Ford had done the right thing from the get go and invited to order and allocated vehicles very simply by time stamp, nobody would be trying to cut in line now. The amount of bad will they’re building here will likely deter enough potential new customers to more than...
I think your numbers are good, but let’s not forget that the full credit is still available for two quarters after they reach 200K sales. Without a limit on the number of people that can qualify for it during that time frame. IOW just as the floodgates are starting to open for the Lightning.
All the educated guesses on here point to Ford hitting that mark a little later than that, like Q3 or even 4. We’ll see, pretty sure all early reservations will qualify for full credit.
The “transmission” fluid is the gear oil in the reduction gear/ differential. Probably good for the life of the vehicle, but certainly better to change it at 150K.
The leaked playbook says that 2022 reservations that didn’t get the order invite will be filled in MY 2023 “in reservation order” when 2023 ordering opens this summer. No guarantee that Ford will stick to it, but at least they’ve put their intention to do better this time around in writing...
You didn’t actually order a truck on 5/19, you merely reserved one. Dealers were given the opportunity in December to prioritize aka let later reservations skip in line ahead of us 5/19 reservation holders. Actual ordering is going on right now, waves every two weeks, next probably on 2/17. Your...
FWIW according to my local sales manager we won’t get any MY 22 trucks here despite being certified and having 18 reservations. Mine was made first day, 5/19. Still hoping Ford will fix this, we’ll see.
Yeah I saw that on Apple News too and sent the same link to my local sales manager asking for his take …..crickets…then again, it’s the weekend, I’ll follow up tomorrow if no reply. They previously agreed to no ADM, in writing, let’s hope they stick to it.
