This one is simple - it's already in the GUI. You can turn off the interior alarm sensor. It says something about do you want it on automatically or to ask each time you turn it off. Use that last option and just don't turn it on.

All of them will shift into park when you open the door, that is by design, changing shifters doesn't alter that. The difference is does it do it by rotating the knob (still another motor to break) or is it all electronically inside the shifter knowing which letter to illuminate.
