I have noticed this as well in the past generally when I am leaving the house so I figured I was just reaching the edge of my Wi-Fi range or possibly it was switching from home Wi-Fi to truck Wi-Fi? I have not noticed it as much after that, but I know it has happened on occasion on the road.
I wondered if anybody would notice:
A. I was checking it out to see if I wanted to move there after we take it over.???
B. It is actually not Greenland. It is somewhere up north near Canada. I figured nobody needed to know my real location!

You probably already know this but be sure the part that plugs into the wall is seated all the way down into the unit!
I usually do not hear it (forward )because my stereo is turned up too loud, but that is nothing compared to your stereo!!!
Reverse you can probably hear over your stereo???
