  1. Spare tire question

Do you need a new spare tire? Do new trucks not come with a spare?
  2. PSA: Use Vinyl protectants on your Lariat seat bolsters ASAP

A sun screen in your windshield will help the cause. It reduces UV and sun exposure.
  3. BlueCruise Audio Muting

    • Or, the easiest solution, adjust your behavior so the alerts never go off.
  4. F-150 Lightning SuperTruck Run a 6:43.482 Nurburgring Lap Time, as Quick as 911 GT2 RS

It's gear noise. Race cars use straight cut gears. EVs typically only have one gearset but apparently they use straight cut gears. The noise is the giveaway. I was always under the impression race cars use straight cut gears instead of helical gears because they are stronger. A Google search...
  5. Google maps with Carplay now integrated with driver display for some. Possible "fix" is in post 40.

Honestly, I use both and find them to be more or less the same. Android seems to be a little ahead with features and configurability but not to the point that someone in the Apple ecosystem would switch. I'm sure there are examples of Apple being ahead but I'm more familiar with Android as my...
  6. Google maps with Carplay now integrated with driver display for some. Possible "fix" is in post 40.

It's possible it's a back end thing with Google or Apple. In the past, Google has rolled out features for Google Maps in waves. Could be the same thing.
  7. Google maps with Carplay now integrated with driver display for some. Possible "fix" is in post 40.

Do iOS users realize that every "new" feature they get is just something Apple ripped off from Android?😁
  8. Stop Safely Now on start

Walk-away locks isn't your problem and the truck doesn't care if the windows are down. Order an OBD scanner on Amazon and find out what DTCs you are dealing with. Maybe it was a glitch but I'm guessing it wasn't. Someone here might be able to help if you can get the DTCs.
  9. 22” Platinum wheels to 20s

I go back and forth between 20" Lariat wheels and 22" Platinum wheels. There might be a slight ride and economy difference but it's so slight as to not matter. In other words, don't change wheels because you think you'll get a range boost or a nice cushy ride; you'll be disappointed. All...
  10. Same trip different BC versions

Good to know. A popular ICE mod is to remove the air dam. One less thing to break.
  11. Ordered General Grabber 116 T and dealer accidentally put on 115 S

My truck has 115T General Grabbers from the factory. They are 22" though.
  12. Ordered General Grabber 116 T and dealer accidentally put on 115 S

Load rating at max psi: 115=2679lb (10,716lb total) 116=2756lb (11,024lb total) Just looking at the numbers I'm inclined to say it's a preference since the 115s will run a bit smoother. However, load rating is calculated at max tire pressure and you probably aren't running max tire pressure...
  13. In the event of a battery fire, what is the fastest, easiest way to drag the truck out of the garage?

Because putting a vehicle in neutral with nobody in it is super dangerous.
  14. 40 amp charging on 8 awg copper.

How many heat cycles did the old outlet have before it failed? How many heat cycles has the new outlet had? You are literally playing with fire. Is it worth the extra 1.9kW?
  15. 40 amp charging on 8 awg copper.

You are looking for reasons to keep doing what you are doing. I cannot find anything that says 8awg is appropriate for a 50A circuit. A 40A circuit should use a minimum of 8awg and shouldn't have a load of more than 32A continuous. You will melt another outlet if you keep doing what you are doing.
  16. 40 amp charging on 8 awg copper.

What kind of wire is it? Romex? THHN?
  17. 40 amp charging on 8 awg copper.

Code (properly sized wiring and breaker) is written to prevent the wires in your walls from burning your house down. Once the wires are outside of the walls it's on the user to not burn their house down. A 40A charger should NOT be used on a 40A circuit under ANY circumstances. @Rtashiro, the...
  18. In the event of a battery fire, what is the fastest, easiest way to drag the truck out of the garage?

You are proposing an easy way to allow your truck to run over your grandkids. You should leave "safety" to professionals.
  19. In the event of a battery fire, what is the fastest, easiest way to drag the truck out of the garage?

Leaving a vehicle in neutral is introducing risk into a scenario where there is very little risk. A vehicle in neutral is always a rolling threat, which can cause serious injury or death. Airliners release their brakes at the gate for brake cooling. There is a ground crew that inserts chocks...
