So many people are switching out their shifters for rotary knobs that I imagine you'll have no trouble finding one second hand. They seem pretty easy to switch out too. There are videos on YouTube.
True, the warranty isn't extended, but the life of the modules should be. For example, if some are replaced in year 7 even if they were refurbished they should last a good long time, hopefully!

I happen to live close to some DCFC's in a rural state, but I am much more interested in what is 50-100 miles away from home, because I very rarely use the ones close to home either as I leave for a trip fully-charged or as I get back from a trip (I'll just coast it in if I have to).
I researched cordless electric trimmers quite a bit and landed on the EGO (Model #: ST1623T). I was primarily focused on power, and I've been happy with it.
