Iāve had fantastic results by writing a short explanation of my concerns, putting it in an envelope along with a twenty (or two or three) and writing āFor my Ford Techā on it. Tiny price to pay for exceptional care.
Donuts work, too
You seemed to describe your issue as a total electronic failure which makes it sound as if it were undriveable? The tech did drive the truck back in to your garage to park it, correct? Again, plausible that the truck was acting perfectly fine but something didnāt save well when the truck went...
As a professional auto technician with 25yrs experience, it is entirely plausible that this was not negligence on the part of the tech. Granted I wasnāt there and donāt know the specifics, but man, sometimes sh*t happens when performing software updates. I appreciate your frustration but the...
This is what Iām experiencing.
Iāve seen on F150 ICE forums about a few settings in the PS Module that can be changed with FORScan, one specifically dealing with return to center. I have not played with this and havenāt researched fully yet.
Power steering module gets reprogrammed as well. I noticed it almost immediately when I picked it up. Less of a center feel and the camber of the road pulls the steering differently. Iām sure Iāll get used to it but I liked the old power steering boost level.
I wonder if the FORScan gurus can...
Please understand how monumental of a task that would be. This is what the dealer network is supposed to be for. Having one person or even a small team monitor the forum to respond to all of the gripes and questions posed would be too much to handle - not to mention that if Ford did reply to...
I highly doubt that a sales dept exists that keeps batteries charged at 100%. Even then weāre talking what, 5% deg? And then read what Rick just said about his measured SOH read and how it changed. SOH isnāt a constant either - it can and will change +/- with use and balancing of the cells. One...
Possible, but Iād be willing to bet against it.
My larger point, having been a technician professionally for 25 years is that itās impossible to pick which vehicle will be trouble or not - unless you go buy a Maserati, thatāll be a nightmare no matter what ?. OP could just as likely choose to...
My question was rhetorical
The battery warranty is 8yrs or 100k miles. Just buy the damn thing if you like the deal.
For reference, Iām knee-deep in the car business. I bought my ā23 XLT ER after it sat on a local lot for about a year. Zero qualms about battery health, and on a full charge...
As long as the dealership hasnāt āpunchedā them yet (marked as sold with Ford) the clock hasnāt started ticking on the warranty. If itās under full warranty, what does the time sat on the lot really matter?
Yes I touched up the toe in the rear. I had the camber kit ready to install but chose not to. If I recall correctly, max spec was -1.5* and it measured -1.8* after the lowering. Iām not hugely concerned by that as long as the toe is adjusted well.
I donāt have the load scale on my XLT
