Can you explain more about this measurement? Does this mean you will hit the bump stops sooner, either under load, or with potholes, etc?

I like the look and idea of easier access for sure, but 2" doesn't seem like much travel at all. Or am I understanding wrong?

Your understanding is correct though unless you are regularly hauling heavy loads or approaching max tongue weight I doubt it will be an issue - it hasn’t been for me. 2” doesn’t sound like a lot but when you factor in that that’s still roughly two thirds of what was there before the drop, it ain’t bad.

I’m highly in tune with suspension dynamics because of my profession as a senior technician in one of the busiest McLaren dealerships in the world, and I have zero qualms with having done this drop. I only wish I could go a bit lower all around without shelling out huge coin for the full susp kits.

Thank you, that's reassuring. Is it safe to assume you did an alignment after installing just the rear? And do you plan to zero out the scale, or just leave it reading heavy?

Yes I touched up the toe in the rear. I had the camber kit ready to install but chose not to. If I recall correctly, max spec was -1.5* and it measured -1.8* after the lowering. I’m not hugely concerned by that as long as the toe is adjusted well.

I had the RC drop spring seat also. Do you know what you have your Toe set at?

I was able to get the kit off Amazon but nowhere else had it. I don’t want to raise the front like other posts mentioned but I prefer level. I would rather figure out how to get 1 inch or so of extra drop. Would look much better that way with the 22’s

As I understand it if the rear is lowered more than about 1.5" there will likely be camber issues and camber shims are needed.

The kit https://a.co/d/0bHrKBI2 in this discussion adds shims to raise the front of the truck and a device to lower the rear. I guess its over my head and I like the way the truck drives and handles, even though I want lessen the rake by lowering the rear, there does not seem to be just a rear lower kit for 1/2" to 3/4" drop.

I have a 2" Rough Country level puck and a 1.25" Rough Country drop in back (from the 3/4 kit). I like this better than the 3/4 in front. Eliminates all rake. Just slightly nose high.

With any height change, you will need an alignment. No other camber mods needed.
