To me, the weirdest thing is that even if the avalanche paint color is exactly the same every time, Ford's own website has different shades depending on what model you are buying. And when I saw mine in person, it looked just like the rendering of the ICE model in avalanche, but it did not...
No I didnāt. If we hadnāt moved forward with the Bronco instead, I certainly would have gone in and driven the lightning before deciding. But since we had basically gone a different way I just didnāt want to even do that, to be honest.
It's certainly not a huge deal either way. I posted this thread because I think, in person, the truck I received looks closer to oxford white than I expected based on the other Avalanche-colored vehicles I've seen and the pictures on the website. But it's still a good looking truck all the...
Interesting, thanks!
Here is a comparison of the contrast between the white border and the paint on your truck and on the truck I ordered. Not 100% sure, but it des seem like yours has more contrast. I don't know.
I certainly agree with you that avalanche is a hard color to gauge in pictures, but I do think it's very strange that the renderings of avalanche on Ford's website are very different AND in person the lightning I ordered looks two shades lighter than the avalanche-colored raptor I saw in person.
I just got a refund of my order and reservation deposit and gave up my Lariat ER that arrived this week. Very disappointed, but it was the best decision for our family. I think I would have gone through with the purchase had I made it in the first set of waves. But the extra 9-10 month...
It's kind of funny that you think one of the biggest car companies in the world has the wrong picture on their build and price tool, but you don't think it's possible a lighter shade of white was applied to my truck than yours because the same website has the color code the same.
The other...
Fine, whatever. What I'm saying is that the ICE render is way closer to how it looks in real life than the Lightning render. This is the same company on the same website on the same monitor on the same day. And the ICE "avalanche" color is a spot-on representation of how the truck...
Another thing to look at: Here is an F150 lightning I just found online and a picture of the one I ordered. Doesn't it seem like there are two different colors of Avalanche given my post above and this one? I get there is a difference in lighting, but if you look at the order screens in...
With all due respect, what are you talking about? These two images I just showed you are both on the same monitor with the same calibration. Maybe it looks different on your screen, but on mine, it's a totally different color. On the same screen on the same day.
And if you can't trust...
That's interesting. Thanks.
But take a look at this. One picture is from my reservation and one picture is from the F150 build and price tool right now. That is not close.
I was a very very early reservation and expected to get a lightning early this year but didn't quite make the cut. Funny enough, our Bronco became available and we went through with that purchase. We need 6 seats in one of our cars, and so I can't really give up the family car and my wife is...
I decided not to go through with the purchase. I asked for a refund of my order deposit and hopefully someone in the area will be ecstatic to pay $100,000 for a brand new Lightning.
oh believe me, Iāve tried to figure out how to allow someone else to buy it without me paying for sales tax and fees. Not because of the color though.
if anyone lives in Utah there is likely going to be a new F150 Lightning Lariat ER for sale in American Fork today.
Avalanche Lightning Arrived. It honestly just looks white. Sure, itās a different shade of white, but I thought it would look darker. Matte grey sort of.
I recognize the vehicle is different, but with the bronco, it took about 6 weeks from blend date to when the bronco was in my driveway. Calling the railway automated lines and tracking it was really frustrating, especially as interest rates were rapidly going up.
But now, it's been 6 weeks...
