I used the chat yesterday to check my status and the answers seemed to be canned. Initially they just told me it was in production and to check with my dealer and the spiel about how to check online. I then asked specifically if there was a chip hold and the way they answered is interesting. Here is the response:

”Yes. I can also see that there is a Micro Chip Hold at the Plant that may affect your ETA date.”

They never said on your truck, only at the plant and that it may affect the date. The sales manager at my dealership today said my truck was “in transit” and did not mention any holds.

I was told this exactly as well, “chip hold at the plant” but that my ETA to the dealer was 11-15 to 11-21. Dealer confirmed the same. I am done bugging them about it for a couple weeks, as the goal line can change at any point no matter what we are told.

Confirmed with my dealer (after getting a boilerplate response from Ford chat that I didn't save) that my build date was 10/28, but it's on a chip hold at the plant. He mentioned the holds have been getting shorter lately, but delivery is still TBD.

Max Tow (but not Tow Tech)
Pro-Power
Spray in bedliner (sure hope there's no chip delay on the bedliner...)

This what I just got from my dealer. It seems to confirm what the chat rep said except that she said delivery date 11/2. It appears maybe 11/2 is the chip completion date.

@Ford Motor Company really should simply make this information available on the order tracking web site. It would save them a lot of pestering from order holders...

I figured I'd find someone else who already asked the question. I highly doubt they are actually included now but I might pester Ford tomorrow and see if it was a mistake.

Ford chat said ETA to dealer was Nov 12-18 for mine but then when I asked if there was a chip hold this is the answer I received.

"Correct, there is a Microchip hold. Ford Motor Company is working closely with our suppliers to address production constraints tied to the global semiconductor chip shortage and make the most of our semiconductor allocation for our customers.
We would recommend staying in contact with the Sales Manager at your Ford Dealership for updates as well."

Not sure if this is a canned response or it is waiting on a chip. I have a SR XLT no options.

My FordPass app is different tonight. It tries to activate the truck for 90 seconds instead of instantly failing. There’s a WiFi hotspot button now too.

Im believe that the chip hold answer is 100% depending on who you talk to. 2 calls and 2 chats.

Order of events-

First call- no chip hold
First chat - chip hold
Second Chat - no chip hold
Second Call - chip hold

Possibly this depends on the level of experience the customer service agent has?

Yeah, same thing with the dates for me. The date is always 11/8, but depending on who I talk to changes whether that's the delivery date or ship date.
