Wow, I didn't realize that the tailgate mat was something I needed until I saw it listed here. I have noticed in just 6 months of truck ownership that the tailgate trim seems to catch stuff sliding in and out and the little trim fasteners pop out. From what I see in the pictures, it looks like your tailgate mat covers that trim piece and the fasteners.
So, what have I done to my truck so far? I added the wireless keypad to unlock the door, and installed retractable ratchet straps in the bed. Recently installed a dash cam, and have a bluetooth OBD adapter for use with ABRP. I intend to install a Comma at some point, but haven't gotten to that yet. Bluecruise is great for what it is, but we have the Comma in my wife's car and having it always available instead of only on interstates is very nice and the Comma doesn't constantly lose site of my eyes and nag me about watching the road.
